OBAMA= THOMAS JEFFERSON
Edited on Tue Apr-15-08 01:36 AM by monicaaida
I just finished watching John Adams, and i was stunned how thomas jefferson was an anti war liberal just like obama, and john adams was a pragmatist like hillary, and they were pres, and vice, the dream ticket is a bad idea, just from that mixture in the movie alone, they hated each other professionally, and argued alot, jefferson had the base, and adams was hated

1. I should hope Obama is not like Jefferson
who supported Indian Removal that later led to the Trail of Tears

12. Jefferson's actions did not cause the Trail of Tears

It was Jackson who pushed to get the Cherokees off their lands in North Carolina and Georgia after gold was discovered there-- and he defied a Supreme Court ruling to get the evil deed started. As it turned out, the Georgia Cherokees got the royal screw, while the North Carolina Cherokees weren't screwed quite as much (and there is still a large population of Cherokees in North Carolina to this day).

10. There's a gulf of difference between those two......
One panders and hold favors over heads,
the other one acts out his conscience.

Fuck.

You hate Obama. Fine. We get it.

Now try and say something positive you've done for the voters today.

8. I held the door open for a little old lady at work today.
She was very grateful. We talked about the election. She said she voted. I was pleased.

And then...I posted a freaking crazy SUSA poll about Clinton ahead in Indiana by 16 points.

The little old lady was more rewarding though.

11. It felt good.
I am just glad it is getting warmer here.

The cooler weather in TX just sucks for the elderly.

13. I'm sorry, but no. No no no no no.
If this were the case, then Obama would support less federal oversight over state affairs and the decentralization of currency. Also, Jefferson opposed war with France because he firmly believed in their revolutionary principles, regardless of how the French Revolution ended. He was not against war (he was a participant in fighting the Brits for our independence for fuck's sake!) he was against going to war with France as Napoleon stirred the pot with Britain.

While I appreciate the need to apply the principles of our modern day leaders to great men and women of the past, perhaps it would be better if we actually apply the principles of great men and women of the past to our modern day leaders once in a while?
