OBAMA SUPPORTERS: What is he planning to hit back just before PA?
Edited on Tue Apr-15-08 11:53 AM by Bensthename
This is the second to last week before the PA election and it has hasnt been fair for Obama. Though again Obama's supporters have proven that we aren't going any where with the recent national and PA polls.

The problem as of today is the media is just jerking all over themselves with this story (and will not bring up the sentence before where he says WHY people are bitter)... And she did gain a super and this 100 mayor thing for her. The media is just drinking this up trying to keep Hillary in this or make Obama unelectable. I'm struggling with which one it is. She is also going on the Colbert show in a couple of night, etc....

But, Obama has a few things going for him right now. First of course is a huge war chest. Second, is this debate Wednesday night where he can dominate this and change the dialog leading into the weekend (luckily due to Bill bringing up Bosnia she had to bring this up earlier that she planned. Haha). Third no matter what the Hill supporters say he hasnt brought up her negatives - Bosnia, Columbia, PA job loss from NAFTA, etc. He can easily bring up one or all.

So we know Obama has dominated this campaign and always makes lemons into lemonade. He has done this some on the campaign trail but the media wont show it. So with his options, what do you think he will do to strike back?

6. What debates are you watching
I must have missed those ones.

Also, I'm not saying Hillary doesn't do well in debates...but its a far stretch to say Obama doesn't do well.

22. He's gotten a lot better
But yeah, she is a little better in that forum, so I am a little nervous. His problem is that he refuses to use canned soundbytes the way she does...I read an article about this a while ago...will try to find it.

11. A "horrible week"?
What the Clinton campaign hoped to use as a major weapon fizzled.

Obama is, once again, in the spotlight...and a lot of people are criticizing Clinton for her handling of this.

NC and OR numbers seem unaffected by the issue.

...and, most importantly, Obama has the numbers solidly on his side. PA was always Clinton's state. The fact is that she has to win every primary left by 28 points to catch Obama. She won't come close to that in PA...and she'll lose further ground in NC and OR. Regardless of the spin, those "states that don't matter" have wound up mattering a lot...and they went to Obama.

Add to that "Annie Oakley-gate" and the cackle and Obama hasn't had a bad week...not as good as his average week, but hardly the disaster that some like to paint.

15. Agree man.. He just has a chance to strike the week before and I think he will.
Like I said in my post. He has tons of money and tons of amo to hit her hard and put her away.

21. Why? He's still winning by a large margin.
Unless you feel that the SDs need to see him throw a few punches to assure them that he knows how to fight, there's little reason to "strike".

I would like to see him take her to task if the right questions are asked in the debate, but he doesn't need to start using the level of negativity in his overall campaign that Clinton has...there's simply no reason to.

23. That is true. But if he wins PA she is done. And this primary needs stopped ASAP.
McCain is giving fucking TV speaches, building his base, and raising money for the gen election while Obama is stuck having a pissing contest for the next few months with Hillary. He just needs to stop her at PA if possible.

25. You're dreaming. She's staying in until the end.
She'll just move the goalposts and come up with new rationalizations why the remaining SDs should endorse her...even though she's #2 in pledged delegate count, overall delegate count, and popular vote...AND polling worse than Obama against McCain.

She's going to take this to the convention...party be damned.

28. I think the supers will move if he wins PA and money will dry up.
Supers will start trickling faster and making headlines and her money will dry up with her loss and bad publicity. And if it does go to the convention she will be easily defeated and the party will be some what more together. Maybe.

31. Possibly, but she still won't drop out.
She'll use it as "proof" that she's the underdog and she'l fight all the harder...

...and she'll step up her attacks.

32. I take it back. You were right.
Listening to MSNBC and reading another article right now. He has just come up in the national polls and they are saying he is looking to come up in PA also.
Well hell, I guess I was overreacting. Luckily people may now be seeing what we are seeing in Hilary.
This is good news.

27. PA was always a gimme for Hill.
Barack is just making her spend money defending a state that was her fave demo.

after the few points she gets (which she will spin as 10x that)

Barack will still have the cash, the delegates, the final states

and Al Gore.
