Something to make the naysayers smile - from Centre County, PA
I just got this from the Centre County (PA) Dems. Centre County, for those of you who don't know, includes Penn State. The county is primarily rural and heavily Republican - usually. But look at what's happening now!

_____

The registration counts for the primary election are official.

We outnumber the Republicans by 3,005.

We now have 39,997 registered Democrats in this county. Since 1/7, we have gained 8,298 new Democrats.

Republicans are now 36,992. Since 1/7, they have gained 392 new voters.

At the time of the primary 4 years ago, we were behind by 7,040.

Thanks to everybody who's worked hard to make this remarkable change happen!"

_____

How cool is that???

This sustains my view that any competent Democrat can win the White House this year. All we need is a nominee with a pulse and decent diction.

9. I have only heard about the efforts of the Obama campaign in that regard.
I'd be surprised if there were an equivalent effort from HRC's campaign and we wouldn't have been hearing about it or seeing it. But I have noticed her remarking on the unprecedented Democratic turnout has been as if.. well ok I won't go there. I just wonder, though, if all those new voters would turn out in those numbers if.. ok, I won't go there

10. I think it was a combination of factors

Both candidates were trying hard as far as I know. What really seems to have changed is the national political climate.

8. Great news, but I still am very concerned abt voting machines
Edited on Tue Apr-15-08 02:04 PM by truedelphi
My belief abt why the polls show a close race between McCain/Clinton, McCain/Obama is that tthey are setting us up for another stolen election.

More voters were registered as Dems back in 2004. They still stole it.

The number of electronic voting machines has increased.
