I have one thing to say about our party and its members
Edited on Tue Apr-15-08 09:54 PM by phillyliberal
Listen,

I am a democrat. I am supporting Barack Obama. However, IF it just so happens that Hillary gets the nomination, I will assure you that the day after it is finalized, you will see a Hillary bumper sticker on my car.

Something has been bothering me lately.. And I need to vent.

I have been reading online, hearing on tv, newspapers, that many "democrats" will be voting for John McCain if "their candidate- hillary or obama" doesn't get the party nomination. Does this sicken, if not anger any other DEMOCRATS on this democratic underground forum?

I cant see anyone on this board resorting to that. I know tempers flair, and people get personal, but I am hoping that these estimates are simply due to people being proud supporters while it hasnt been finalized.

The point of my post is this- we are together in this. If you or anyone in this country considers John McCain(a republican, need I remind you) a better candidate than Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton there is one thing to be said about you.

YOU ARE NOT A DEMOCRAT. And if this does actually happen, our party will be forever tarnished, and in my opinion extinct.

Thank you. That is hall.

2. I agree.
I dislike Hillary the politician.

But it will be a very, very cold day in hell before I vote for a warmongering Republican. Any Democrat willing to vote for McCain should be ashamed of themselves.

5. The campaigns need to tone it down
Both of them

Seriously....I got so mad the past 2 days I've been considering voting for my dead father as a right in vote come November....I won't but I've been mad.

I won't volunteer for her. I'll volunteer for the congressional candidate who is facing a repug in my district but when push comes to shove...I know I'll do the right thing than take a long hot shower with a bottle of whiskey.

6. I will NEVER
Vote for a republican - end of story.

I am a huge Obama supporter but if Hillary is our candidate so be it. I will work for her, donate money to her campaign, and vote for her as well.

I'm a Democrat damn it!

7. I will vote against McCain no matter what.
This is the attitude that I suggest people adopt if their candidate doesn't get the nomination. It's a vote against McCain. I loathe Hillary Clinton with the intensity of a thousand suns, but I'll vote for her if she's the nominee because it would be the only vote I could cast to keep that lunatic out of office. Simple as that.

I have to say though, I think most of the people who say they'll vote for McCain if their candidate doesn't get the nomination are completely full of shit. Nobody who's been even remotely paying attention for the last 8 years would vote for him.

He already said that he's very firmly anti-abortion and will work to "secure the rights of the unborn," so anyone who even remotely gives the slightest shit about reproductive rights and Supreme Court appointments should be willing to vote for Dracula if that's what it takes to keep him out of the White House.
