I am going to make an effort to take it easy on Clinton
There is a lot of bashing going on here towards Hillary and I am no less guilty than anyone here. Starting today I am going to make an effort to stick with some of the positive aspects of the race and will keep out of the Hillary basing threads and do my part not to perpetuate it.

Anyone else want to take the pledge with me, just to make an effort?

1. If you're an Obama supporter
I see no reason why one needs to bash H. Clinton.

Obama's ahead..has the money..the support of the more liberal branch of the party...just flaunt that..

Clinton is bashing b/c she is behind...the other candidates went after Clinton when she was ahead. That's just how politics works.

Otherwise she deserves what she gets.

5. Eh,

Intent is a bitch. Most of my anti-Clinton remarks are out of snark. I really don't have any real dislike or hatred towards her, or her campaign. Well, minus the IWR vote. Her campaign is a disaster, but I actually try not to bring that up most of the time because some people really believe in her, or it, or whatever.

I'd rather joke about it. But I can play. I'll cut back.

We're all going to be united soon anyhow. Might as well play nice.

10. I can play nice
I'll even pay her a compliment that will shock and awe.

I am super impressed with how hard she is fighting despite being in a disasterous campaign. Are there things that have pissed me off? Sure. But she knows how to play to win. I almost feel bad for her because if it wasn't for Mark Penn and her staffers, I think she could have carried her momentum out of 2007 straight up until Super Tuesday, objectively speaking. Her campaign seems to have a seperate identity from who she is. And, now she's caught between Campaign Hillary and Hillary Hillary. Makes me wonder who she really is, y'know?

16. Agreed and I am as guilty of this as anyone here
and this is my effort to just mellow it out a little bit. Other than the normal political talk I am going to make an effort to not say anyting at all if I can't say something nice. This race is winding down and I think there are a lot of heated things said by what are otherwise good people, on the same team.

... She's the candidate - she has an obligation to ME, not vice-versa.

11. To quote Bart Simpson: "I can't promise I'll try. But I'll try to try."

Just trying to be honest here. There have been days when I have felt like we've been going at Hillary a bit too hard. After her pathetic moment last week in front of the cameras, I had a SPLIT SECOND where I actually felt SORRY for her. Almost protective. I don't want to see any woman being publicly humiliated.

But EVERY TIME I start to feel that way or that maybe I haven't given her a fair shake, she does something underhanded and it makes me ANGRY. Accusing BARACK OBAMA of being an ELITIST is OUTRAGEOUS. He just paid off his student loans a couple years ago! He made $12,000 a year working with poor in Southside Chicago! SHE was on the board of WAL-MART. SHE is worth $109 MIL. SHE has spent the past 30+ years in politics, living in the Arkansas Governors Mansion to the White House to multiple exorbinant homes as a Senator. And she is calling HIM the elitist for finally articulating EXACTLY what I am feeling?!?! It makes my blood boil. I am bitter. I am angry. And I am NOT alone.

She is DAMAGING OUR INEVITABLE NOMINEE. She is damaging our chances to take back the White House. That is UNTHINKABLE. I personally CANNOT live another 4 years under a bush-mccain regime. ANYONE that stands in the way of that is in my cross-hairs and will be the target of attacks.

What's more, the nastiness of many Hillary supporters just irks the hell out of me. The other day I responded to an Obama supporter's post re: the Lewinsky scandal by saying that I thought his topic was inappropriate and unfair to Sen. Clinton and that we should try to focus on relevant issues to THIS campaign. It was an attempt to keep our side of the street a little cleaner and maybe reach out to the Hillary supporters. I immediately received a reply from a certain nasty Hillbot bashing me and all other Obama supporters. Even when you try to be nice, or defend Sen. Clinton, or raise the level of discourse you are attacked. So tell me, what is my motivation for even trying to try?

It all makes me want to put my head through a plate-glass window. A few weeks ago, maybe I could have heeded the call and backed off. But as far as I am concerned, she is an enemy to our inevitable Democratic Nominee. She is blocking our path to victory. She is now on par with the Republicans in my mind - and she has brought THAT on herself with her nastiness.

15. A very worthwhile pledge --- up to a point
Long ago I decided to not bash Hillary supporters, for we are all Dems and we need unity to kick McCain's war mongering ass this fall.

As far as Hillary, I've dissed her tactics quite a bit - but now I see her campaign in it's last throes so I'm chillen for a bit and have mostly focused on simply promoting Obama.

But if Hillary gets really weird on us and decides to drag this trench-war all the way to the convention, I think the time to usher her firmly out the door will be at hand. My assumption is the SuperD's will end this by mid May, but no later than the week after the last primary in June.

She deserves the dignity to decide when to leave, but if she drags on a wasted battle to the great detriment of the party and our chances in the GE - it will be time to get in her face and en masse shout - GO!

I hope it does not come to that.

That said, I've defended Clinton numerous times against cheap shots.
