HIllary Clinton's campaign will try to drop the Ayers bomb and it will explode in their face
Edited on Wed Apr-16-08 09:53 PM by zulchzulu
Yellow-toothed Wolfson was just on Keith Olbermann's show and tried to make an issue of the Ayers "connection" as per Boy Georgie's big "question" in the debate. It looks like this may be the next attack on Obama and like "Bittergate", it will backfire. Obama even mentioned how Bill Clinton pardoned Weather Undergrounders... I hope they step into the trap.

I did a Handy Guide on this:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5451010

Here's all you need to know about this "story:"

As Newsday pointed out, Clinton has her own, also tenuous, Weatherman connection. Her husband commuted the sentences of a couple of convicted Weather Underground members, Susan Rosenberg and Linda Sue Evans, shortly before leaving office in January 2001.

Which is worse: pardoning a convicted terrorist or accepting a campaign contribution from a former Weatherman who was never convicted?

Whatever his past, Ayers is now a respected member of the Chicago intelligentsia, and still a member of the Woods Fund Board. The president of the Woods Fund, Deborah Harrington, said he had been selected for the board because of his solid academic credentials and "passion for social justice."

"This whole connection is a stretch," Harrington told me. "Barack was very well known in Chicago, and a highly respected legislator. It would be difficult to find people round here who never volunteered or contributed money to one of his campaigns."

Does she really want to go there?

Then again, I doubt she has any shame left at this point.

6. I knew they would eventually drag this crap out...
I'm glad Barack mentioned how Bill pardoned Weather Undergrounders...he can just keep saying that and PISS OFF Bill...who will then explode in some nonsense that should then be the big story this weekend.

I hope the Clinton Car Bomb falls into the trap.

Building Power from Within Communities - Woods Fund of Chicago Invests in Building Resident Participation in the South Side’s Renaissance

Through our South Side Community Organizing Initiative, the Woods Fund focuses its resources on less-advantaged residents who have historically been left out of the democratic process. Our foundation is committed to building a more robust community organizing infrastructure in this part of the city. We hope the valuable lessons we have learned will help inform and advance the continued development and impact of “people power” in all under-resourced communities.

33. NY Times story on one of the pardons-2 cops & guard were killed
An unusual combination of New York political and law enforcement leaders have condemned former President Bill Clinton's pardon of Susan L. Rosenberg, a one-time member of the Weather Underground terrorist group who was charged in the notorious 1981 Brink's robbery in Rockland County that left a guard and two police officers dead.

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, a Republican, and United States Senator Charles E. Schumer, a Democrat, were among those who criticized the pardon, as did Bernard B. Kerik, New York City's police commissioner, and David Trois, a Rockland County police union official.

''It sickened me,'' Mr. Kerik said yesterday of the pardon, one of 140 granted Saturday, the final day of Mr. Clinton's tenure.

Ms. Rosenberg served 16 years in jail after she was found with a companion in New Jersey in 1984 unloading 740 pounds of dynamite and weapons, including a submachine gun, from a car. She admitted her role in the New Jersey case, in which she had planned to supply others with explosives for politically motivated bombings.

34. HIllary Clinton used 9/11 to LIE about what Ayers said about his WU actions
Ayers was asked in 2001 whether he thought the actions he did were something he should apologize for and he unfortunately said he wished they had bombed more.

What Hillary did was LIE ABOUT AYERS and his statement about his Weather Underground actions and imply he was referring to the events that happened on 911. She then eluded that Obama had met Ayers AFTER 911.

This is yet another pathetic LIE to add to her stacks of LIES.

40. I'm sure you noticed after Barack mentioned Bill's pardons,
they asked Hillary if she wanted to comment on it and she said no. Did you also notice the look on her face?.?.? She kinda looked surprised that Barack brought it up.

I guess this could be viewed as a positive, in that the more dirt they try and fling, the more it will backfire, and by November no one will care because it will be over done.

The Rev. Wright episode has already played itself out, even tho they KEEP trying to make it an issue, no one cares anymore.

The NY Times has already exposed the Ayers 9-11 story, and how it was something he had written about in his memoirs, and had nothing to do with 9-11. Kinda makes Hillary's Camp look like the liars and deceivers that they are, and people are noticing.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens next. I know Barack won't let this pass, if they persist in stirring the "scandal pot" it will only make them look more desperate.
