PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Remember the cookies?

Barack Obama wants to make sure that voters do, even if it was 16 years ago that Hillary Rodham Clinton created an uproar when she sniffed that she could have given up her career and "stayed home, baked cookies and had teas."

While Clinton brought up the problems Obama could face in a general election if he's nominated, Obama used a two-hour debate Wednesday night to remind Americans what they don't like about his opponent and her husband, Bill, the former president. Both candidates argued they were tough enough to withstand whatever Republicans try to use against them.

Obama raised President Clinton's controversial pardons on his last day in office. And he wanted Americans to know that Hillary Clinton repeatedly called him names in the past few days.

1. Since Clinton's running on the 90s, it's entirely appropriate. NT

5. This proves how ridiculous the original issue was in the first place.
There wasn't a damn thing wrong with Hillary's response then and criticizing it and turning it into an attack shows you how low Obama can really go. Michelle has said almost the same thing and no one even raised an eyebrow.

7. I was struck by that too
He did raise it in a clever way though.

As if defending her. But it didn't quite work.

13. he used a sexist Hillary at tea comment to diss her here also:
Which leads me back to what started this whole mess. From December 2007:

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2007/12/29/hold_the_crumpets.html

Sen. Barack Obama dismissed her foreign policy experience as little more than sipping tea with potentates..."It's that experience, that understanding, not just of what world leaders I went and talked to in the ambassador's house, who I had tea with."

Now look at those words. Those very sexist words. Would he have described a man's foreign policy that way? My, wouldn't those words look great in a GOP attack ad against the then front runner Hillary in a general election? Can't you just hear McCain saying "Barack Obama said that Hillary Clinton's foreign policy amounted to little more than a tea party." The room would fill with laughter. The RNC would put out buttons with pictures of Hillary serving tea, maybe wearing a mad hatter's hat. Obama had just handed the enemy a great campaign line.

9. He really is a liar and a phony. Fortunately, we're seeing the mask slip with such frequency,
even the most deluded won't be able to ignore it.
