I Can't Hear You.
Can't hear a word you're saying.

The crying's too loud in here. Way too loud.

In fact, I haven't heard such loud incessant crying since Marty Brodeur last complained to a ref (sorry, I'm stuck in playoff hockey mode right now).

Obama bombed last night.

He just did.

He could've done far better.

He didn't.

Oh well.

Get over it.

Life goes on.

Sheesh.

2. It's silly to ignore the Media issues as if they don't exist.
We need a fair media in a Democracy to keep the people informed.

If you think it is just a matter of one side whining, you are really missing an important issue.

34. The "first time"??
Obama's had nothing BUT this kind of BS from the media for months, from flag pins/patriotism to being a Muslim to Rev. Wright to "bitter"...and gosh, look where he is now. If you think *he* can't handle this stuff, you've not been paying attention. I don't think it matters whether *we* can handle it or not. People are pissed off over a debate that is being universally panned as bad; if you were smart you'd be pissed off too, as your candidate got the shaft as well.

40. What planet are you on?
The media have harped on all this stuff for months; the debate was just a continuation of it. Or did you miss that big speech about race in America that caused such a stir? Why did you think he made that speech, just for the hell of it? Jesus, try reality, you might get a little more mileage out of it.

47. The media has had to report on all
of Obama's mishaps. The difference is the slant that's placed on it - always minimizing or trying to figure out if Obama can survive it? I don't know what media you watch, but if you watch MSNBC, they might as well be on Obama's payroll.

That speech on race would have been a lot more effective to me if it had been for the hell of it. Since it was politically motivated, it had less meaning to me.

What planet are you on??

48. we'll have to disagree
You AND the media call them "mishaps", as if he did something wrong. Most people (apparently) see it for what it is: harping on stupid shit for ratings or political gain.

And btw, would your candidate ever have made a similar speech on her own, regardless of motivation? I think not, and of course she still hasn't, and won't. It took a lot to make that speech even if it was done in reaction; he could have just stayed silent. He *chose* to speak up about something no other serious political candidate has ever spoken about.

7. If You Think Superdelegates Base Their Decisions Off Of One Debate,
than you're more politically ignorant than I thought.

Chances are, even with his bombing last night it won't affect much of anything. Still doesn't mean he didn't bomb though...

13. So Silly.
Nothing spun in my post at all.

In fact, I'm an Obama supporter. Overall I find him to be the better candidate as well. But I have the fortitude, heart, integrity and maturity to accept and admit when he doesn't do something well. Last night he bombed. That's not spin, it's blunt and plain reality. He stumbled on questions he should've been prepared for a million times over. He didn't answer nearly as well as he should've. That's a fact. He bombed last night. Big deal. The world didn't end.

17. You can't defend that "debate" last night and call other people silly.
It doesn't work that way.

"In fact, I'm an Obama supporter."

You also can't lurk around waiting until Obama's the clear winner, then come out supporting Clinton just to cause trouble, attack Obama's wife of all things, and then call yourself an Obama supporter.

Because it doesn't fool anybody.

This is why nobody takes you seriously, OMC.

21. Who Defended The Debate? Always Makin Things Up Bornablahblah.
I think the format was atrocious and ABC was disgraceful.

None of that means that Obama in fact didn't bomb. He did. Plain blunt fact: He stumbled on questions that he should've been able to field strongly and cleanly. He didn't do the latter. He should've. He bombed them. Get over it.

And I support Hillary too. I'm a democrat. I tend to support democrats. They're both great.

Regardless, I didn't watch the debate, but I was able to gauge the news media by looking at what others were saying. A lot of them said he was shakened by some of the questions thrown his way.

Is Reverend Wright patriotic?

Why don't you wear the flag pin?

Explain your buddy with the weatherunderground?

If he bombs on idiotic questions, so what. The questions reflect more on the idiots asking them than on how he answers them. Americans are sick of this meaningless gotcha politics and thats what his campaign has been built on.

ps: I thought he handled the weatherunderground one very well.

44. past experience tells me
you wouldn't listen even if you could hear. In fact, that's what your OP is saying. "I am not gonna listen".

Is there no such thing as a legitimate fan gripe? One playoff game the Packers were playing the 49ers. On the final drive the 49ers fumbled and the Packers recovered. It was game over - victory for the Pack!!

Except that the refs called it wrong. They called 'down by contact' and let the 49ers keep the ball.

True, the Packers could still have won by stopping the touchdown that SF scored a couple of plays later, but the fact remains that they HAD won, but the officials took the victory away by making a bad call.

49. Newsflash: It wasn't a good night for EITHER candidate.
I'm unaffiliated for now (Edwards supporter, will vote for the eventual nominee), but I don't think either of them had a great night last night.

Hillary admitted she lied about Bosnia (and got VERY lucky that Obama made the class move not to pile on as she did with Wright and Ayers).

She refused to comment on the Ayers commutation.

Her answer about Iran was fucking frightening, and ought to be getting a LOT more scrutiny.

So, no, not a good night for her, either. It was a WORSE night for the electorate, because we had a shitty "debate" moderated by two people who framed every policy question (when they finally GOT to one an hour into the debacle) as if the GOP position was the correct position. Think about THAT for awhile. And Gibon's arguing (not moderating, but actively ARGUING) over the capital gains tax was WAY out of line.

It was awful. Just downright awful. And comments to that effect don't make anybody a "crybaby," especially those of us who are more removed from the thing right now than Hillary or Obama supporters. I was disgusted.
