1. Woo Hoo! I love Franco (I am old enough to remember the best
team the Steelers ever had) I know I will get flack for that, cause I don't watch much football anymore. I was younger and more into it all then.

Anyway,

Love that they are doing this----Great news!

3. I'm not a sporting enthusiast
nor am I an athlete.

But this is the first time in my lifetime any candidate has been actively involved in sports aside from golf.

Mark Twain once said, "I don't need a stick and a ball to ruin a perfectly good walk in a field."

Consider checking out Obama's moves.

23. Here's owner Dan Rooney's letter endorsing Obama.
Touchdown! Steelers for Obama!

Dear Fellow Pennsylvanian,

Based on the experiences that I have had in my seventy-five years and my assessment of what I think our nation needs to make real the change that is so needed, I am proud and now feel compelled to endorse Senator Barack Obama.

This is not something that I do regularly but as I listen to the candidates in this race, I am struck that we continue to hear about the problems and the same challenges that we have been talking about for decades. Protecting jobs here in Pennsylvania, breaking our dangerous and costly addiction to foreign oil, making health care accessible and affordable – these are neither new issues nor new ideas. And yet we have failed to make real progress.

As a grandfather and a citizen of this community I think Barack Obama’s, thoughtful, strategic approach is important for America. When I hear how excited young people seem to be when they talk about this man, I believe he will do what is best for them which is to inspire them to be great Americans.

This time, we can’t afford to wait. Our country needs a new direction and a new kind of leadership – the kind of leadership, judgment and experience that Senator Obama has demonstrated in more than 20 years of public service, and in a particularly impressive way in this campaign. Senator Obama has rejected the say-and-do anything tactics that puts winning elections ahead of governing the country. And he has rejected the back-room politics in favor of opening government up to the people. Barack Obama is the one candidate in this race who can finally put an end to business as usual in Washington and bring about real change for Pittsburgh and the country as a whole. He has inspired me and so many other people around our country with new ideas and fresh perspectives.

True sports fans know that you support your team even when they are the underdogs. Barack Obama is the underdog here but it is with great pride that I join his team.

When I think of Barack Obama’s America I have great hope. I support his candidacy and look forward to his Presidency

Sincerely,

Daniel M. Rooney, Owner and Chairman, Pittsburgh Steelers

50. He won't stop access to documents that a Senate investigation requests, will he? You really APPLAUD
Bill's protection of BushInc throughout the 90s?

Do you REALLY think Clintons did this nation a service by deep-sixing so MANY serious matters for Poppy Bush and his powerful cronies?

54. Kerry already said investigations will start in the senate as soon as Obama takes office
Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 12:46 PM by blm
and, I dare say it will be a great thing for this nation to have a Kerry investigation of government corruption that is respected by a Dem president cooperating with access, instead of the way Clintons treated Gonzalez and Kerry investigations of BushInc throughout the 90s when he sided with the secrecy and privilege of GHWBush and his powerful cronies.

Surely you can agree that continuing investigations into BushInc will be a great thing for this nation and its historic record, right?

Or, maybe not. You do seem to have a soft spot for the Democrats who protect closed government and its secrecy and privilege, while you snipe at Democrats who advocate for open government. Hard to tell anymore since your tolerance for deceit and for the protection of BushInc has increased dramatically since our days of compatriotism, oasis.

55. The damage has already been done. The Bush/Cheney team has
racked up 100's of millions for themselves and their cohorts. I don't envision much public support for a Don Quixote effort by Sen. Kerry.

But he damn well better try.

Edited on Sat Apr-19-08 09:44 AM by blm
so much throughout the 90s that they were ABLE to get back into the WH stronger than ever.

The COWARDS undid all the years of work the braver lawmakers did - and now you want to mock them as Don Quixotes. Would you be mocking them as Don Quixotes if Bill hadn't rolled over and protected BushInc and instead did the right thing as president and COOPERATED with the investigations?

No. Kerry ANd Gonzalez would be wellknown as courageous lawmakers for their efforts, and no Bush2 would have been possible. No 9-11 event would have happened. No Iraq invasion.
