Here's his 'hard hitting' interview with Senator Clinton prior to the Iowa Caucuses:

1. It was my understanding that his book drove a wedge between them
But that's quite the chummy interview. Thanks for finding it.

8. As with everything,
subject to interpretation -- we view things through our preconceived filters.

I watched that interview with the belief that George S. didn't like the Clintons, and my interpretation of the interview reinforced that belief.

Others see it just the opposite.

3. I'm one of those posters, as you know since you just responded to my post,
and I will say again, it's what I THINK -- my impression.

Nothing to believe or disbelieve.

9. I know, and I responded to your post
just after re-reading the interview I remember thinking that he soft-balled her through the whole thing.

:hi: We can agree to disagree - not like it's a big deal now.

13. One question though....is Stephanopolis known as a tough questioner?
I've always seen him as more kid gloves on his Sunday interview show.

19. Challenge time Debi!
I tried to look for a "hard hitting" George interview but right now google is mucked up with last night's debate.

If you can show me an instance of George getting tough on an interviewee (doesn't matter who) other than his disgraceful performance last night, I will be quiet..(well quieter)

22. Yeah --
I watched it again and still get the same impression. I'm guessing if I thought he did have positive views towards them, I'd be in agreement with you.

:hi:

on, shall we say... "not good" terms.

And he talked about it in his interview with Diane Sawyer.

To be honest he disappointed me.

7. I think he treats Obama very differently than he treats Hillary.
And of course, if she is back in the WH, and he gets a plum job, he will get a shot at another book.

What did the last one he wrote in The WH net him? I seem to remember that he got an advance of over ten million.

18. Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union had a treaty so there is now way they go to war.
Things may have happened between the time George became involved with the Clinton campaign and later as a White House staffer 11 years ago and now.

Like I said, read his book and make up your own mind.

You can get it used for a couple of bucks.

I found it to be an interesting insight into the 1st Clinton campaign and the the early years in the White House.

20. Yeah... I don't know if they honestly believe it...
or if they just think other people are that gullible.

Considering how many tried to defend her Bosnia lies... I just don't know what to think anymore.

23. It's a way to give himself credibility.
It's like O'Reilly saying over and over again how "independent" he is before echoing with perfection every White House talking point since 2001.

24. Yes and no
I think Stepha-whatever-his-name-is is an opportunist. He sucked the Clinton's dry (ooh bad image, I know), then he turned on them and made a small bundle shredding them. So, he may or may not like them -- and vice versa.

However, now he's in the employ of the corporate media and does their bidding. He is not on the show to further his own agenda. He is on the show to further the agenda of the people who sign his paychecks.

It's like the car salesman who's working for GM today and telling you the Chevy POS-mobile is the best car in the word, bar none. A month later, he's working for Ford and telling you that the Ford Crap-omatic is the best car in the world. Personally, he'd rather have a Lexus. It all depends on whose signature is at the bottom of the paycheck.

Steph is no different.
