One good thing that (hopefully) will come out of the debate last night
Because Gibson & Snugglefuckapuss went SO far overboard with the inane questions for the first 52 minutes, and are today getting criticized with vitriol, is it at all possible that this is the last of this kind of debate we see between now and November as media outlets back off from this approach out of fear of ABCing themselves?

1. Perhaps, but more importantly--people have to stop watching this crap!
The media needs an audience to sell advertising. If people quite watching. listening, or reading--they'll either go out of business or be forced to change their ways. The networks are becoming increasingly irrelevant--we might see their demise in our lifetime.

2. What do you think about the Democratic Party not participating in any debates?
Any and all candidates?

3. It would be a death knell
People want to hear the candidates on the issues in this format.

4. Good idea. But can you trust Hillary to comply?

She kept her name on the ballot in Michigan when the others had theirs removed.

She'd probably show up and be the sole participant!

8. There were four candidates on the ballot in Michigan. Try again.

13. If you read my post--I didn't say she was the only one on the ballot.
She's the only one left in the race now, however. Thus, the "sole participant" comment.

16. You said the "others had theirs removed"
You said: "She kept her name on the ballot in Michigan when the others had theirs removed." Anyone reading that would take that to mean everyone had their names removed except her. Come on.

5. This debate was an opportunity for people with small minds to have their questions answered
directly by Obama. He did a beautiful job.

Even people with small minds and deep prejudices are voters. Believe it or not, they too care about things that matter. They're just afraid. Obama has no difficulty answering their questions. I am confident he gained more supporters last night, while Hillary likely lost some, because she obviously does not get it.

6. How about this good thing ...
On CNN Howard Dean has just urged super-delegates to decide NOW. Sounds like it'll all be over soon!

12. It's hard to prepare
for a freaking ambush! That's the whole point of these things. The main thing is that he survived. ;)

14. Obama was prepared to talk about real issues
Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 06:58 PM by merh
not the stupid tabloid gossip shit that had been addressed over and over and over again.

He wasn't prepared to have to deal with "what about that flag pin thing" while neither of his interrogators or his opponent were wearing one. He wasn't prepared for hillary being allowed to say "we will figure something out", with her being allowed to skate on things, while he was pressed to answer to false facts and bogus hypothesis.

Face it Charlie is afraid he'll have to pay more taxes on his riches.

11. Hell no. The initial reaction will blow over, and they'll be back to congratulating each other.
Look for the lovefest about the "independent" media and the "courage" of Gibson and Georgie to be all over the Sunday talk shows.

They don't give a rat's ass that a single mom doesn't have health care, or a wounded kid is back from Iraq without a leg.

And they sure as hell don't care about criticism from "little people" like that.
