You are so right.
This is a fight between TRUE PROGRESSIVES vs the DLC/neocon faction of our party who are in bed with 90 percent of the Republicans who are neocons. Together, those factions have nearly engulfed our democracy. The gross mutation is almost complete.
Obama is emerging as the candidate who can actually take on these bastards. You're right, he is revealing more--about his willingness to investigate BushCo, review torture, and serve "We The People", and not corporate America.
I find the timing of his revelations, very significant. He didn't start out the primary saying these things, but he is slowly revealing what a revolutionary he is---and what a revolutionary leader he will be. I imagine that if he had started out of the gate--swinging like a Progressive and making it clear that he will dismantle the neocon game plan--they would have destroyed him or worked even harder to thwart his Presidential run.
This is what we've been waiting for. This is the President who can stop the neocons in their tracks. I had seriously given up hope.
I'll tell you what shifted it for me. When I saw Lieberman out last week--piling on Obama, I knew. The elite establishment--the bastards who despise "We The People" and want to implement their PNAC plan and turn this democracy into something from the movie "V For Victory"---are all against Obama.
Obama's time in the U.S Senate was spent on the periphery. He didn't roll himself into the inner workings of DC. He opted to spend a lot of time alone. He didn't play the game. However, he was there long enough to see what was going on--and he decided to do something about it. I also believe that Kennedy, Kerry, Daschle and other Dem stalwarts saw exactly what was happening, and they knew Hillary was a part of it. They decided that Obama would be the "electable one" who could be the President--working in tandem with the party stalwarts--to end this nightmare.
One thing that has always intrigued me, is Obama practically hiding the fact that he is a Constitutional Scholar. He taught Con Law, and other law classes for a decade. He damn well knows what they've been doing to our Constitution. He knows the Constitution inside and out. You gotta know that he's outraged---about thousands of abuses against our Constitution. Part of his "Plan For America" is restoring Habeas Corpus. He gets it.
I think Progressives really need to let this sink in--that Obama is the one we've been waiting for. He is on the side of "We The People" and that is significant, because there aren't many politicians left, who actually are.
