ABCDebate: "It triggered the most furious outrage I've seen" Ben Smith
bahahaha!!

"10.7 million viewers, and a lot of email

The ABC debate, according to the network, got 10.7 million viewers.

It also triggered the most furious outrage I've seen from the huge, and growing, Obama activist base, which in this case merged with the liberal Netroots -- which aren't always on the same page -- to generate a volume of complaints about the first 45-minutes of questioning that are pretty impossible to miss.

It's just a small glimpse, I think, of the level of heat the media is going to take in the general election, and John McCain doesn't seem to have any equivalent.

ALSO: No breakdown by state, but this: "Additionally, the debate beat “American Idol” program-to-program in four markets: Philadelphia, Orlando, San Antonio, Albuquerque, according to Household ratings."

Yeah don't mess with us Obama supporters, you'll get your asses handed to ya.

1. If this sort of activism continues after he is elected we will get much accomplished!
I hope with every fiber of my being that people stay involved and are willing to keep fighting for what they believe in.

21. that is surely the plan.
i keep trying to tell people that he learned the lessons of the late great harold washington, the first black mayor of chicago. the big lesson was- get the people to lead, then follow.
this campaign was designed from the ground up to be a movement, not just to win an election.

9. This should not be a candidate-driven issue
Hillary has her own reasons for objecting to the tone of the debates.

The real issue is not which candidate is subjected to meaningless gotcha questions.

It is whether debates are going to continue to be turned into tabloid "reality" TV, or if they are to reflect their original purpose -- which is to inform voters about the candidates and their positions.

10. We need this level of activism
The media has pissed on this country for way too long, force feeding us Georgie and a war. They will not get away with it this time because people are (dare I say) angry. We want our damn country back.

11. NO ONE watch "This Week" on Sundays or Gibson ABC Nightly News
They need to have the ratings crash for them to really take notice. It would be like watching George channeling Hannity from now on anyway. Zero creds now George!

14. I was so angry that night I both called them and left a comment on their blog
What the clueless media do not realize is that Obama's message of "we the people" getting involved to change the way the political game is played is actually getting people involved to change the game playing. Evidently this simple truth is too profound for the puny minds at ABC to grasp.

...keep that fire under their a*ses - ALL THROUGH the election. Until Obama is IN the Oval Office - AND after, too.

We shouldn't let those bastards get away with their usual crap. NOT THIS TIME!

26. They have to find a way to make things balanced
Look, there is no doubt that Hillary has seen bad moderators in the past, but Obama was slaughtered in the ABC debate. The bottom line is there should be important questions asked. That way the playing field will be even.

Could you imagine if the super delegates voted to give Clinton the nomination? The outrage over this debate would be nothing in comparison.
