Oh HELL YES!
Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 11:28 AM by FLDem5
FIRST THOUGHTS.

*** ObamaNation's Power: Curious of what the bitterness and anger could look like if Obama is somehow denied the Democratic nomination? Check out the reaction from the ObamaNation over Wednesday's debate. To put it simply, ABC was under siege yesterday. This may only be a taste of how the ObamaNation would react to a Clinton nomination. If MoveOn is motivated to do a petition campaign against the media over a debate, imagine what Clinton delegates and undecided superdelegates would face this summer if there is doubt. And as the Politico's Ben Smith pointed out yesterday, it's also what the GOP would face in the general election, especially if Obama is nominee. The level of devotion among Obama's supporters rivals what Bush had with his flock in 2004. The left-wing blogosphere is MUCH more powerful than what you see on the right this cycle and it reminds us of the advantage Bush had in '04. While we all know about that so-called right-wing voice machine, don't forget that there is now a left-wing noise machine (on the internet) as well. And it has found its voice.

Hell yes.

Not this time, McCain.
Not this time, Rove.
Not this time, GOP

YES WE CAN! YES WE WILL!

2. I truly feel like we have more of a voice now, especially with KO
A topic can be discussed on the boards now and then by tonight KO will be discussing it. I really think we are gaining serious ground here, as far as finally getting some sort of voice in the media. Hopefully other networks will begin to give us a voice as well.

5. And if they are called on it just as ABC has been called...
It will be very difficult for them to succeed at the "distraction" politics. Hey! Look over here!

Didn't we used to make fun of bush supporters for being so fanatical?

10. What I think he got wrong in that, is that I don't think its all fanatical devotion
but Democrats of every stripe, Independents and maybe even some Republicans who are just sick and tired of the media, of the bullshit, of the mind-numbing spin.

They are fitting all who complained into a box for labeling purposes, but I'm good with that, if it makes them think twice about kicking Democrats and their policy around, the way they have been nervous about criticizing Bush. If that is what it takes to restore our Constitution and get our country back to what it should be - then I'll take it.

14. this isn't so much about Obama as it
is Bush fatigue and media fatigue. We are fucking sick of this country being propped up by corporation and the religious right. Obama just allows our voices to be heard. Hillary could have been the same way, but she's too old and out of touch with the generation of today. This generation will help to bring us into what we could actually call a "progressive, competitive, responsible," country again. Something that has been lacking for a long, long, time.

11. For to long our voices have not been heard!
We have been shouting these messages for years but have been ignored. Now more voices have been added and the noise is deafening. WE WILL NOT BE IGNORED! YES WE CAN!

12. Todd's assessment that Obama is weak is inaccurate... perhaps dumb
He may not understand Obama's logic. The prescription for doing things the way politics has been practiced by the very people who ripped the Clinton's up will not work if you are a change candidate. Kneecapping is sure to get the same results they're getting Clinton.

The media is trying to goad Obama off message. Todd's assessment that Obama was a defensive at the debate is a mirage. In fact he was not testy or defensive but measured, restrained, composed.

Obama was not going to lower himself by driving up his negatives. Look at Clinton. Where are her negatives. Obama won the debate handily. He won over voters because he was a gentleman. His response bounced her back off of him when her attacks became too pointed but he never went overboard on his critique. One sentence and that was it.

I like Todd but sometimes his assessment about a candidate like Obama can be a bit off. He should stick with the numbers.
