The two BIG mistakes Hillary made with MoveOnGate.
First, she just inflated her biggest problem: CREDIBILITY. The contrast of her '07 embrace of MoveOn with her now tossing it under a bus will loop through YouTube and the media bigtime and is already on MSNBC. Second, she has just pissed off millions of Obama caucus voters who are NOT MoveOn members by implicitly lumping us all together. Remember, it is NOT just that she has isolated 3.2 million MoveOners. It is that she has stereotyped and insulted ALL Obama caucus goers, caucus organizers, and caucus states (while at the same time passing the buck from her campaign failures to MoveOn members AND other Obama caucus voters). She has screwed up bigtime. She is burning bridges with MUCH more than just MoveOn. She will pay for this in this primary.

40. About the Obama campaign? She "misspoke" about MoveOn's
position and behind closed doors, dissed an organization formed to support Bill Clinton AFTER she said something completely different to their face.

Kerry, Gore, Richardson, MoveOn. Who's next? Jefferson?

What a piece of work.

4. But right about now, we don't really care. She has done this to everyone
so what's one more group.

What we care about is calling, and donating, and talking about Obama.

She is no longer relevant. And we will not be outraged about someone who is not going to win anyways.

7. Bloo is correct... the primary is over... this doesn't matter.... but it helps McCain....
...by pushing the perception of Obama farther to the left... and helps deliver Indies to McCain.

Then she gets to return in 2012 with her "I told you so" Tour.

8. Some on here seem to see a 'conspiracy' behind every issue that surrounds Clinton. This was just a
simple fuck-up. She straight up contradicted herself ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DIL0vXdKrU ) and called out one of the biggest organizations in the Democratic party. Sure, they weren't supporting her, but I have no doubt they would have helped in the general (at least a good portion of the members). Not anymore.

It also plays into her biggest weakness, like you said. Overall, big fuck up on her part. I hope the MSM picks it up, frankly.

17. Since when has contradicting herself mattered to her? Here's her future speech line....

"Today I am announcing my run as an independent candidate for President of the United States. I didn't leave the Democratic party, the Democratic party left me. The Democratic party has been hijacked by marxist and far-leftist and is not the same Democratic party that brought peace and prosperity in the 1990s. Because of my conviction that I am the best person for the job, and because I feel there is a great silent majority of voters out there that wants what I have to offer, I will run as an independent and defeat the old politics of the right in John McCain...and the radical politics of the left in Barack Obama. The great people of middle America deserve to be heard. I am their champion."

I'm convinced that she won't even seek out re-election for the Senate in 2012. He entire political career was geared towards this election this fall. I expect that she will leave office and enter the private sector.

36. even mild republicans hate her guts - she can't win
she'll know that... her advisors will know that

I have had the same nightmare as evidenced on here once in a while, even today

I ask people and rearrange the possibilities in my head nine hundred different ways

If she hangs on with her fingernails to August... litigating and having a fit? Well, it may cost us the Primary

but she won't run independent... she'll be crucified... the Clinton name smeared forever

15. I say BRING IT ON!
This primary season has been a gift to voters. Now we know who/what she really is. I shudder to think that if all of the primaries had been held on the same date early in the year, she would be the nominee based on name recognition, her huge war chest (at the time), and the mantra of "inevitably."

Gawd knows no one is using -gate for anything important, like torture, Iraq, the economy. Maybe soon.

It's a pretty severe screw-up for someone who is supposed to be experienced.

I wonder if she will continue with this crap after she drops out. It can only help McCain.

Edited on Fri Apr-18-08 11:31 PM by Stephanie
She did not win that poll. Nobody got a big enough majority to win endorsement that year. It was not what she wanted to hear. I'm sure she's been pissed off ever since.

32. She liked MoveOn when it was trying to protect Billy from impeachment
In fact, that's why MoveOn was formed.

The Clinton's M.O. is to take what they can from people and kick them in the nuts.

That's why you see so many of their former "inner circle" supporting Obama. They've learned that the Clintons are out only for the Clintons.

It's just so sad to see so many otherwise smart people -- even here at DU -- being hoodwinked by her and becoming emotionally invested in her candidacy. She'd dump them in a NY minute, if it suited her personal agenda.
