6. Hmm interesting map.
I really think he is going to be able to take Louisiana without much fuss. I mean once he sinks in that it is him or 100 years of War McCain. Then rational people here will switch to Obama.

I know he is in double digits now but its just my feeling that Louisiana is going blue this year!

11. Most probably Bush's presidency
Democrats gained a Senate seat and the governor's office in Colorado within the past 2-3 years. The state is trending towards Democrats. The convention should acclerate that trend.

If Obama is going to win a red state, Colorado will top that list.

I am not sure about the accuracy of polls here. Before supertuesday polls had Obama up by 2 points and he ended up winning 65-25. McCain lost Colorado to Romney, I am sure Obama will kick his ass here.

15. Colorado needs help to be this year's Ohio
I thought we relied on math around here? Why is math exclaimed in respect to delegates, but ignored in electoral terms? Must be an Obama thing.

9<27

That's the relationship of Colorado to Ohio and Florida. Even the stepping stone states like Nevada (5) and Iowa (7) combined with Colorado don't threaten the decisiveness of Florida alone. You can throw in Missouri (11) as an Obama opportunity if you really want to grasp at straws, based on primary outcome.

We're not properly valuing the apparent demographic weakness of Obama in Florida and Ohio. It can be overcome if Obama manages a national lead of several points over McCain, and is better than Hillary in that regard. But in a 50/50 race, Hillary will win the electoral college a higher percentage of the time than Obama. I've run that through my Excel model, which is admittedly not as sophisticated as my sports versions, but my MIT-grad brother-in-law has tinkered with it. It looks like Obama needs to be about a half point better than Hillary on a national level, for his electoral college numbers to catch up to hers.

Ohio will be this year's Ohio.

This is Dobson country but I believe if Obama is the nominee he may make CO blue. I can only speak about the caucus I participated in, to say that the turn out was unbelievable. Our precinct chair said that it was the largest he had ever seen. I believe that Obama is the key. We had so many first time voters who had been inspired by him, some were in their 30's and had never voted before. The Obama crowd was 3 to 1 over Hillary.

I have not seen the McCain stickers on cars like you see Bush04
