If Obama wins in PA by .0001%, would Hillary drop out?
Anything less and I fear the Clinton campaign will spin it into more justification for continuing this dance.

In reality, every corporate media pundit has finally settled into agreement that anything less then a Hillary blow does not help her in any way. A single digit Obama loss helps him considering the expectations set by the Clinton campaign 2 months ago (when she was leading in PA by 22 points).

And if somehow, someway - Obama can eek out the narrowest of wins - it's over on Wednesday folks (to practically everybody except the Clintons). I have also heard that proclamation from the above mentioned talking heads.

Alas, even if that happens - I am not confident Hillary will see it as over. Since her end game is a coup by the SuperD's, the people's preference may not matter at all.

Optimistically, I really don't think the SuperD's will allow a coup, rather they will follow the wishes of Howard Dean and the majority of voters, and end this thing sooner then later.

But first, here comes PA.

3. I don't see how she could spin that as any kind of win.
However, if she were to win PA by that margin, no doubt it will be hailed as a glorious victory for the "working class" voters.

she'll hang on until she can stick the knife right through Obama. Don't forget she's in and she's in to win.

5. She would be wise to start looking for a graceful exit, but I'm afraid she's going to
have to be pushed out. :dem:

6. With Clinton facing large losses in May I think she MIGHT drop out even winning by 10.
May is Obama's month. MULTIPLE State conventions giving him addon superdelegates and you have NC which likely will be a giant Obama win. Indiana which is a tossup at this point.

He will wear down her leads in WV and KY and those states do not have enough delegates to majorly dent Obama's lead without Clinton winning big big big in both.

Obama in my view on on track to surpassing 40 million for April in funds with so many new donors that I think most of it can be used in the primary.

Bittergate backfiring

Screw em gate getting legs

MoveOngate alienating people all over the place.

It all depends on PA I guess but unless Clinton goes into may Strong it will be a disaster for her campaign.

I hope she considers exiting.

7. I don't think so.
She is in the "if I can't win neither will he" mode. She wants to bloody him up so bad he can't win in a GE, and that will allow her to come back in 2012 and try again. She is playing a dangerous game here, but it's all about her, period.

8. They already are spinning it.
Edited on Sat Apr-19-08 11:37 AM by Life Long Dem
They were saying Obama is using ads in the state of PA at 3 to to her 1 ad. And with this, they said, if Obama doesn't win in PA, then it would be a good indicator that he is not electable in the GE.
Now that sounds like justification for continuing on if Obama doesn't win PA.

9. It isn't 'expectations' its body count.
Clinton has to win big in all of the remaining primaries, really big, to overcome Obama's delegate lead. She is not going to do that. She cannot win. They can spin expectations from now until August, but Obama is going to show up with more delegates than Clinton and is going to win the nomination.

13. I agree.
Hill wins either way. If she hangs on to the bitter end and drives folks to McCain she will collect from his victory. Ya gotta know that it is all good for Hill or she would have taken her ball and gone home months ago.

About a week ago I heard Bill on some news clip saying how she absoposolutely definitely for REAL real this time, MUST win NC.
(and nobody saw him with his fingers crossed behind his back, so I take it he really means it this time.) :p

21. I get the impression that she will never drop out...
but that's the impression I'm supposed to have, isn't it. Hell, John Edwards was telling us he was in it all the way to the convention - less than 24 hours before he "suspended" his campaign.

At any rate, I think she'll stay in it until every last superdelegate has declared, one way or another. She is staying in it for one reason, now - to damage Obama so much that he will lose to McCain - so what if we have to endure (if we can indeed endure) four more years of Reprobate rule - so she can try again in 2012. To which I say, good luck with that. In fact, I wish us all luck - Clinton and Obama supporters alike.
