One of the two candidates is going to be the D nominee, can we
Edited on Sat Apr-19-08 11:55 PM by rasputin1952
come to an agreement that we will support whichever one gets the nomination?

Over the past few weeks, we have all seen a lot of stuff posted in favor of or an attempt to destroy these two fine people. Perhaps on Tuesday, there might be a presumptive nominee that will appear to be on the road to representing us in the GE. This may be a turning point in this incredibly long process, and I think that regardless of where we sit on the field, we need to see that this bickering has done little more than divide us...I am hoping we can find it within ourselves to come together and beat the tar out of McCain and get some excellent numbers in Congress.

We will not be able to do that if we remain torn. It has been said that being in the Democratic Party is like herding cats, well, I like cats, and I have no desire to herd them, they are free spirits, and so are we. But cats learn to live together, and so can we.

Since we are such a diverse group, and we are far more intelligent, passionate and compassionate than those who make up the GOP, we are bound to a little more "wild", but that is what makes us strong as well...we have vision, we DO care about the future, we DO believe we can and will be better than what bush and his minions from hell have done to this nation. We KNOW the future of this nation is at stake, and that 360 million + Americans are better than what the GOP thinks we are. So I ask that we all prepare for whatever comes in the future as a nominee comes out of this. I ask that we stand up and fulfill what we have been talking about...redirecting our nation to a position where we once again demand Equality, regain what Freedom the current administration has taken from us, stand up for what is right simply because it is the right thing to do.

Let us look to the future, let us come together and let's beat the living tar out of McCain, the neo-cons and the GOP once and for all. We are a family, and as such, we should be willing to band together against a common enemy.

We can do this, but we have to work together...and I'm sure we can do it.

Thank you.

7. If it's HRC, or Obama...I will support either of them...
I'd support any D, (and no, Leiberman is not a D...;) ) against the GOP machine...I'd support a rock before I'd think about handing over the government to another GOP hack.

10. I will support the D - regardless of who it is
One would get my vote in the GE.

The other would get my vote, my money and my time.

11. That is the only way we will get out of this mess...and more
importantly, Congress is mandatory to get anything done. Much of our focus should be on reclaiming good #'s in both Houses, for without strong congressional backing, everything else is essentially irrelevant.

16. Time and effort are the biggest things we can contribute...
The GOP is going down hard, but we need to make sure people get out and vote. In my area, we are already getting ans and small buses lined up for some who have difficulty getting to the polls.

I even heard one GOP'er around here say that Bush "assassinated Lincoln for the second time, he's killed the party"...

12. We can and I believe we will.
In the end I have faith that enough of us know how vital this is to all of us collectively to screw this up. My original first choice is long since gone to the wayside. When it became obvious that I was going to have to make a choice from the remaining candidates I put aside my feelings of loss and disappointment and moved forward. I'll do so again if the need arises. I don't believe I'm all that different than most other voting Democrats out there. We have too much at stake to turn our back on this country just because we didn't see the hopes and dreams we invested in our first choice come to fruition.

14. Yes...my first choice is long gone as well, that's the way it goes.
I have no desire to see the party torn apart, and I do believe, that a few exceptions, we will rally around the D candidate.

FWIW, out here in NE, D registrations have hit an all time high, mostly younger people who are looking to their future, R registrations have remained flat. The R's I come into contact with really don't like McCain, and a lot of them have voiced a desire to sit this one out. There are a few that see McCain as one who "may" beat either HRC or Obama, but all things considered, the GOP, at least in Nebraska, is about as down as I've ever seen it. Virtually all who voted for bush, are having some serious buyers remorse...:D
