Hillary will be a right wing, war mongering commander in chief
she will embrace pre-emption, torture, and all the little bullshit perversions of executive powers that bush has used to justify his actions. and mark my words, she will use guantanamo.

5. Her disregarding the NIE on Iran is eerily similar to Bush on Iraq.
And she supported the US going it alone to "disarm" Saddam Hussein.

I think you are right.

12. Obama disregarded the NIE on Iran also
or didn't you watch that debate? They both said the exact same thing - Senator Clinton in language easily understood by the American people and others around the world watching so there would be no uncertainty and Senator Obama in cleverly disguised politco-speak designed to fool anyone not listening closely.

24. No, you weren't listening well...
Obama: Well, our first step should be to keep nuclear weapons out of the hands of the Iranians, and that has to be one of our top priorities. And I will make it one of our top priorities when I'm president of the United States.

I have said I will do whatever is required to prevent the Iranians from obtaining nuclear weapons. I believe that that includes direct talks with the Iranians where we are laying out very clearly for them, here are the issues that we find unacceptable, not only development of nuclear weapons but also funding terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as their anti-Israel rhetoric and threats towards Israel. I believe that we can offer them carrots and sticks, but we've got to directly engage and make absolutely clear to them what our posture is.

Now, my belief is that they should also know that I will take no options off the table when it comes to preventing them from using nuclear weapons or obtaining nuclear weapons, and that would include any threats directed at Israel or any of our allies in the region.

Hillary: You know, we are at a very dangerous point with Iran. The Bush policy has failed. Iran has not been deterred. They continue to try to not only obtain the fissile material for nuclear weapons but they are intent upon and using their efforts to intimidate the region and to have their way when it comes to the support of terrorism in Lebanon and elsewhere.

---Obama says he will prevent the Iranians from obtaining weapons...where has he contradicted the NIE? Hillary says they are Iran has not been deterred. This contradicts the NIE.

Here is what the NIE says:

In a stunning reversal of Bush administration conventional wisdom, a new assessment by U.S. intelligence agencies concludes Iran shelved its nuclear weapons program over four years ago.

"We judge with high confidence that in fall 2003, Tehran halted its nuclear weapons program," reads a declassified version of the National Intelligence Estimate key findings.

"We judge with moderate confidence that the earliest possible date Iran would be technically capable of producing enough highly enriched uranium (HEU) for a weapon is late 2009."

36. Here is the NIE on Iran
Please read the entire release and take heed of the words in it.

http://www.dni.gov/press_releases/20071203_release.pdf

Both Senator Obama and Senator Clinton recognize that Iran HAS resumed it's Uranium Enrichment program and we do not have sufficient intelligence to know if Iran will maintain a halt in it's nuclear weapons program indefinitely.

Both Senator Clinton and Senator Obama recognize this: H. We assess with high confidence that Iran has the scientific, technical and industrial
capacity eventually to produce nuclear weapons if it decides to do so.

Ignoring intelligence reports is what killed over 3000 people in NYC. I don't think either of these two candidates will do that.

17. Are KO and RM really that stupid?
Or are they trying to manufacture controversy to get ratings? Both Clinton and Obama promised action against Iran should they get or use nuclear weapons or attack Israel. Senator Clinton, as is her style, used language that the American people could understand and that others around the world could understand. Senator Obama was either being deliberately deceptive with his choice of language or is incapable of using language to make his point that can be easily understood by the mass majority of Americans.

And it's pretty simple to see just how his "snake oil salesman" charm went over just by that video. I'd rather have a President who can make things clear.

54. Have Senator Obama say those words
and watch how fast his candidacy goes down the tubes as well as his Senate seat in the next election. They WERE saying the same thing and if Pat Buchanan hasn't realized that by now then it's a testament to just how good of a snake oil salesman Senator Obama is. Read the transcript and if you find Senator Obama ruling out any sort of military response to Iran producing or getting military weapons or attacking Israel, please post it here and I will issue you an apology.

You won't be able to because Senator Obama clearly states "appropriate response" which is anything from giving Iran the finger from the White House lawn to nuking them back to the stone age. And he says "I will take no options off the table" which includes giving Iran the finger from the White House lawn to nuking them back to the stone age.

And if Israel were attacked by Iran the "appropriate response" would be massive retaliation. And if you don't think that is what Senator Obama was saying then he needs to be questioned further about this particular area because it is an area a large percentage of Americans care about. No wonder he doesn't want any more debates.

Being a woman, she had to persuade people that she would be a "strong" Commander in Chief. That means ready to drop the bomb at the drop of a pin. I am concerned about that.

25. Precisely right. And when one heads down that road, pulling back becomes less and less likely.
A person may think "I need to send this kind of message this time and then, later, I can be different." WRONG. All of the factors that have been given momentum by that vote will make later SIMILAR decisions appear necessary and reasonable. Plus we've already seen how she colors the facts to suit herself.
