The two districts with the largest voter registration in PA are Obama strongholds (a closer look)

Below is a map of areas with the largest increase in Dem voter registration. I have provided more detailed demographic information of the two districts with the largest increase.

University City

The racial makeup of University City is approximately 42% Black, 35% White, 18% Asian/Pacific Islander, 4% Hispanic, with the remainder not classified. (UC Report Card: Households, Age, Income, Race; p.7)

"The residents of University City can be described as young, highly educated, and diverse. Home to four universities and colleges, University City's student-aged population represents nearly half of the neighborhood’s total population. In addition, the area is becoming more ethnically diverse, with an estimated 7% increase in the minority population since 2000. The share of residents who have a bachelor's degree or higher is almost 40%, which is 20% higher than the city and 10% higher than the region." (UC Report Card: Households, Age, Income, Race; p.7)

West Philly

"West Philadelphia is a vibrant, diverse, multi-cultural urban area, home to three excellent and world-renowned universities."

Conclusion

These two districts are highly educated and contain significant African American populations. In short, these are Obama's strongholds.

1. Have you seen this?

Do you think the 7-2 split for Obama in district 2 is solid? It would require 72,22% or more for Obama.

And more interesting: I have district 8 listed as a small Hillary victory. But I have seen some put it down as a possible 50+ for Obama. Would you have any thoughts/data on that?

Absolutely love your work!

2. I think the 7-2 split is a good call, these are either high Black areas or highly edu areas

Obama will win in Bucks:

Bucks County is another Philly suburban county in the Delaware River Valley. It is where George Washington crossed the Delaware River in December of 1776 on his way to one of the most significant battles in the Revolutionary war. It has few African Americans but is highly educated with 31.2% having a Bachelors degree or higher. It is also significantly young compared to the rest of the state.

But it will likely be a moderate win there. 55%-45%?

I see you are into this stuff too! Can't wait myself.
