Obama gets asked four times as many gotcha questions in the 4 debates between the two of them
Barack Obama has received the overwhelming majority of scandal questions over the course of the four debates, by a margin of 17 to 4. Obama has fielded questions about his "bitter" remarks, his connections to 60s-era radical William Ayers, two questions about flag lapels, two questions about his alleged plagiarism of speeches, three questions on Louis Farrakhan, and eight about Jeremiah Wright.

Clinton has received only four such questions -- two about her Bosnia trip, one about a photo of Obama in African garb that was linked to her campaign without evidence by the Drudge Report, and one over-the-top inquiry about Bill Clinton ("If your campaign can't control the former president now, what will it be like when you're in the White House?").

Yes, and ABC was worse, far worse, than any other of the 4 debates between Clinton and Obama.

23. yeah, those 4 questions were so bad, Hillary was treated unfairly
Those four questions were not as important to be asked in a debate as real issues, you are right, she was treated unfairly. Now that I said that, will you agree that during debates Obama was treated MORE unfairly? I guess not... That's all the OP was saying.

2. Stop it with the whining. D'you seriously think Obama shouldn't be asked these things?
Edited on Sun Apr-20-08 07:15 PM by saracat
The GOP are gonna bring them up.When Hillary was the frontrunner the netroots attitude was "Suck it up" ,they always jump the front runner. But Obama should be protected? Fuck that. Sorry ALL candidates should be questioned and St.Barack is no exception.

15. Then let the GOP bring them up
But this just feeds the accusations that our media is more focused on entertainment than hard news. I find it difficult to imagine those questions being asked by BBC moderators.

10. I'm sure he is aware of that......
But since he's twice a good of a candidate as the others running, he will do fine.

5. That is what happens when you are the front runner
See Clinton, Hillary 2007 and for that matter at various points Mitt Romney, Rudy Giulani, and John W. McSame. Going back to 2004 look at Howard Dean and to a lesser extent Wes Clark.

9. except it started before he was the front runner...it's happened all along
My only point is, Hillary has NOT been treated unfairly.

And her supporters who think she has are not being truthful or living in reality.

14. Because the media and 95% of Americans are too fucking dumb to care about/understand actual issues
and prefer to call all the irrelevant bullshit "news", and talking about things at an intellectual level higher than second grade "being elitistical".

19. Clinton supporters WANT every other Democrat to recieve the same shoddy treatment she received...
... for years - it's there "get us back" time, in their psyches. Don't bother appealing their sense of... well anything. They only want to get every other non-Clinton-supporting Democrat back.
