Here's what so stupid about the Media Pundits
Edited on Sun Apr-20-08 09:41 PM by Armstead
Today on one of those TV gabfests, conservative NY Times columnist David Brooks was shedding crocodile tears because Obama has turned into "just another politician."

He basically said that a few months ago, Obama represented a shining hope as an alternative to politics as usual. However, according to Brooks, he has since shown that by saying some negative things about Hillary Clinton, he has lost his "inspirational" quality, and disappointed people because he is just another politician.

And most of the otehr idiot pundits on the panel agreed with him.

Now here's the catch: In the past, when Obama was NOT being negative or being "political" these same idiot pundits were criticizing him for being "weak." He was not showing the "fire" and "ability to fight back" that is necessary.

In other words, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

No, the ones who lack a clear moral compass are those like Brooks who are professional malcontents. If you wear red, they have to say you should wear blue...And if you wear blue they say you should wear red.

I sure do wish they'd get out of their insular circle of professional "panelists" and bring a greater variety of peopel on these shows.

We're suffering from a case of intellectual inbreeding.

2. Brooks is usually off-base.
But then again, many of them are, in one way or another.

3. David Brooks gave his seal of approval on the abortion of a debate.

Bill Sammon quoted him extensively defending the ABC POS.

4. Yes, I noticed that and I also noticed them saying
the swing voters will break for Clinton - they use these tactics to sway voters... when they know statistics prove the swing voters should break for Obama. The media rules the roost... at least they did before the "Internets"

7. What is important to the punditry
is that they retain their status as pundits. They are desperately grasping at the remaining shreds of their credibility with common people ... but that fabric is dry rotted and falling to dust as the hold on tighter.

The air seems crips and clear ... as if even the breeze knows an awakening transpires. There will be a new awareness of things. I cannot say what tentative conclusions that new awareness across the land will express ... we may not agree with them or like them. But the awareness is there ... people know they are being bullshitted, and they know that it has hurt them, and ... dare I say it? They are indeed quite bitter.

9. David Brooks is such a dink
Edited on Sun Apr-20-08 10:08 PM by ErinBerin84
I'm an Obama supporter, but I thought it was majorly prickish when Brooks wrote the article about how Hillary should quit. Republicans on tv and in newspapers try so hard to stir the shit for the Democrats, and try to exploit Obama and Clinton supporters' resentment of each other. It's sickening.
