Donna Brazile looks ahead: "There's a group around that really wants to take the fight to the convention. They don't care about the party. It scares me, and that's what scares a lot of superdelegates."

13. Brazile knows so much, and she really did great for Al Gore. She has turned into a joke.

17. Brazile on the tape where Floridans were begging to keep their voices heard was truly despicable.
She should stop her deception once and for all and indicate she has been a fierce backer of Obama's from the start, and would say and do anything to get him the nomination.

2. If PA is close enough, the supers will have enough cover to break hard for Obama...
... Which is all I think they're looking for - cover.

8. More likely they are waiting for May 6
PA is very unlikely to be an Obama win (Tho hope for a win!) More important at this stage is May 6. If Obama gets wins in North Carolina and Indiana (This is why Clinton needs to beat Obama by over 5 in PA because she DESPERATELY needs money for the warchest to put into slowing Obama in Indiana)

Then the supers will have every bit of cover needed to flock to Obama.

May 6 is not too far away considering that Obama will continue to raise money for the Warchest and Clinton has that court hearing that I am curious about if it will go to Trial (Not saying it will but the news report said the guy has a bit of evidence and there is quite a bit of video evidence of their connection as well)

May 6 is not too far away considering that PA has taught A GREAT lesson and the experience used in it can be used in upcoming states and the GE.

He will have time for not just a partial train trip but a train trip across the state in 3-4 days.

12. HRC is absolutely going to get her ass handed to her in NC
I'd be surprised if she came within 18% to be perfectly honest. She has no support, and I mean none, from folks in the Triangle or Triad. Look for Wake, Orange, Durham, Alamance, Chatham, Guilford, Forsyth, and Mecklinburg counties to swing HARD for Obama. Those are your population centers, and he's had a huge force on the ground for weeks. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he took Buncombe (Asheville area) as well.

3. If it scares them so much then what are they waiting for?
They have the final say. If they start moving in droves to Obama then it's over.

9. Because if Hillary pulls off a blowout in PA, it will look like they are
trying to thwart the will of the popular vote - which is a scary proposition.

When when she takes PA by 3-5 points, instead of 20, they'll be able to do it because Obamas delegate lead will be untouchable by then - no way she can get close enough to threaten his lead. It will be over by 5/6, if not before.

10. They don't want a Clinton backlash
They don't want millions of Clinton supporters screaming "foul" and voting for McCain in the GE.

16. Let 'em. Let us all see the spite, and then see her lose...
... That'll put the perfect cap on party realignment. Maybe they'll all even cry too - or is that too much to hope for?

19. A lot of Clinton supporters like slamming Donna Brazile...but LISTEN TO HER!!
Edited on Mon Apr-21-08 10:51 AM by Bullet1987
Because she speaks for a LOT of superdelegates (the folks Clinton and her supporters always yap about). There are many within the Party who are troubled by Clintons tactics and don't like it.

20. If Brazile truly cared about the party she would have tried to be honest a long long time ago.
Brazile has backed Obama since 2004, and has attempted to hide it. Dishonest has been her game, and it has paid off.

It seriously surprises me that her supporters pretend not to know it. Clinton doesn't really hide it.

I believe the SDs are not as undecided as people think...they are biding their time.

Most care about the party
