A FEW LAST WORDS FROM HILLARY CLINTON

By SEN. HILLARY CLINTON

MY FAMILY HAS a long history in Pennsylvania, and having the chance to campaign here has meant a great deal to me. My grandfather moved to Scranton at age two. He went to work in the lace mills at age 11 and often worked six days a week until he retired. My father grew up in that working- class family, and although we lived in Chicago, his heart never left Pennsylvania. My brothers and I were christened here, and every summer, we would stay in the cottage my grandfather built on Lake Winola.

Traveling across this state today, I see that same Pennsylvania spirit my family instilled in me - that wonderful combination of resilience, patriotism and optimism. A spirit that says anything is possible when we roll up our sleeves and get to work. That is the spirit I'm bringing to my campaign, and the spirit I will bring to my presidency.

After seven years of President Bush, we know we have our work cut out for us: two wars abroad, a recession looming here at home, a health-care crisis, an energy crisis, and threats to our security ranging from extremism to terrorism to climate change to global pandemics.

Today, we need a president with the strength and knowledge to tackle these challenges starting on day one. A leader who knows how to turn our economy around and lift up our middle class. A commander-in-chief who is ready to end the war in Iraq and keep our families safe. I'm ready to be that president.

………….

I'm offering solutions to create an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top. That means creating good jobs - jobs rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, twenty-first century manufacturing jobs, and more - jobs that pay the bills and won't be shipped overseas.

I'm offering solutions to end our dependence on foreign oil. We had the Industrial Age and the Information Age. It's time for a new era: the Clean Energy Age. We'll invest in clean, renewable energy sources produced right here in America: biofuels, clean coal, wind energy, solar power. ……………
I'm offering solutions to finally provide health care to every man, woman and child in America. Under my plan, if you have insurance you like, you keep it. Nothing changes. But if you're uninsured or underinsured, you'll have access to the same health plan that members of Congress have. And we'll offer tax credits to make sure everyone can afford it.

.........

Ohio's Rep. Ryan endorses Clinton

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio is supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton for president — the second Democratic Ohio superdelegate to back the New York senator in two days.

Clinton's website announced Ryan's support on Saturday. Ryan, of Niles, originally supported Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd for the nomination.

"The people of the 17th (Congressional) District overwhelmingly voted for Senator Clinton in the Democratic primary," Ryan said on the website. "I look forward to working with her to see that our community is the beneficiary of her economic policies."

Another northeast Ohio member of Congress, Betty Sutton of Akron, threw her support behind Clinton on Friday.

Clinton Adds Three Superdelegates Today
Former NJ Governors Jim Florio & Brendan Byrne, follow US Rep Betty Sutton (D-OH) in pledging their support to Hillary

Former New Jersey Governors Jim Florio and Brendan Byrne pledged their support to Hillary Clinton today, after being chosen Thursday as add-on superdelegates. Their show of support comes the same day US Rep. Betty Sutton announced she too would support Clinton as a superdelegate.

“I am grateful for the support of both former New Jersey governors Byrne and Florio, as well as Rep. Sutton,” Clinton said. “Together, with their support and millions of others, we will deliver health care to every American, jumpstart the economy, and turn our great country around. Our campaign is experiencing great momentum.”

Brendan Byrne served as the 47th Governor of New Jersey from 1974 to 1982 and co-writes a weekly column with his successor Thomas Kean on state and national public affairs. James Florio was the first Italian American governor of New Jersey, serving from 1990 to 1994.

Rep. Sutton served eight years in the Ohio State House prior to being elected to represent Ohio's 13th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006. Before being elected to Congress, she worked as a labor attorney fighting for the rights of Ohio's workers.

2. T4P!! One of the things I most appreciate about Sen. Clinton
Is that she treats the American voter like an intelligent adult.

She lets us know where she stands on the issues. She tells us in very specific details where she wants to take this country.
