Hillary's quiet departure from Lancaster
Edited on Mon Apr-21-08 01:01 PM by thunder rising
I'm not sure what happened here, but I was at Lancaster airport about to leave when I noticed a cameraman with a HUGE camera. I ask who is arriving that deserves that piece of equipment, and he said Hillary was departing. So I thought I would wait around and take some pictures.

Nobody was there. The buses arrived, the press corp boarded the plane, and Hillary decided to walk in MY direction. The problem is that I have 13 ft of OBAMA under my wing (you can see it in the first and last pictures).

I smiled and nodded but did not move nor make any attempt to approach her and she instead turned her attention to a small plane on the first row. After a few seconds of peering inside she turned to me, posed and waved and walked away. NOBODY was there!! Not even the owner of the plane she was looking at (that's weird).

2. Nice shots and how strange that seems
I think she must be enjoying the solitude though. I can't even imagine facing crowds of people and cameras all day - every day.

3. would love to see a pic of your plane flying overhead with
that 13 feet of OBAMA visible to those on the ground!

Thanks for posting an interesting slice of what happens after the rallys & townhalls.

16. None yet. The problem is circling a crowd the wing is tilted to the outside
I made 3 circles I and then a hard figure 8 to expose the wing when I left.
1. I didn't want to intimidate the crowd.
2. They may have thought it was part of the event.

4. The poor thing was probably thinking about getting in that little airplane
and going somewhere, anywhere, else.

She's kind of a sad figure, really. But that's no reason to vote for her. I'm glad she has a good daughter who will take care of her when she looses.

8. I admit I am amazed at her just pressing on and on
at sixty. Im 44, and I dont know that I could do it day after day...people, cameras, crowds, lights, shaking hands..

Campaigning this long is rough on both of them, Im sure.

13. I may not be a Hillary supporter
but I hope she isn't ever flying in a little plane like that one. Yikes.

15. It could have been arranged that way...
...I went to a couple of Hillary events back in the beginning of the WJC administration. On one of them, I was in the vicinity when she approached her car. There wasn't a crowd there, although the event had been packed.

I don't know if she arranged it or not, but if she had wanted a crowd, she easily could have had a very large one.

I still remember how normal she was back then. She is so different now.
