The freakin' flag pin...
Edited on Mon Apr-21-08 11:51 PM by TWriterD
Do we have a list as to the reasons Obama doesn't always wear one? (Add away!)

1. Because they're all made in China.

2. Because George W. Bush and Dick Cheney wear flag pins, and look at the havoc they've wrought on this country.

3. Because I carry my country in my heart with me at all times, blah, blah, and don't need a pin, blah, blah, to show my love of country.

4. Because I like to watch you dumbasses get whipped into a Corporate Media-manufactured frenzy and ask stupid questions during live "debates."

5. Would you rather I step on it?

2. Does she wear one?
I don't give a shit whether either of them do, but I thought Hillary normally donned one.

5. I've tuned out almost completely...
but for snippets here and there on TDS and Colbert.

Corporate Media will be hanging onto Obama's lapels like Hannity swings from Clinton's penis, and I'm just hoping (it springs eternal, you know...) for a way for Obama to shut them up for good on this issue.

4. because the flag should be seen as more than a fucking fashion statement.
wearing a jersey doesn't make me an athlete and wearing a flag pin doesn't make me a patriot.

11. It's disturbing and indeed tragic that
it's more important to see a flag pin on politicians' lapels than it is to see the flag-draped coffins of our brave troops which we are not allowed to see. True patriotism is in your heart and brain, not on your goddamn lapel.

14. If a citizen really revered the flag, he/she wouldn't denigrate it to the level
of cheap reproductions, like tee shirts, handbags,
beach towels, and tacky little pins.

The flag is a symbol, not a fashion accessory..
