I voted for Hillary this morning!
7:00am bright and early, soon as the polls opened, I was there and cast my vote for Hillary. It felt great! I know I voted for the candidate who is able to bring the most change to this country, and clean up the mess caused by the current administration. She is the most qualified, the most experienced, and the most hard-working candidate we have.

I was proud to vote for Senator Hillary Clinton this morning!

Delaware County, PA

The turnout this time will send a message in itself, regardless of who "wins".

Usually it's 20%. So that's huge!

87. Voting FOR the Iraq War Spending Resolutions bought the bullets....
And kept the troops on site to cause all of the casualties, military and civilian that have happened so far.

If you want to be a PURIST, only Wellstone voted against the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002, the Levin Amendment, the Durbin Amendment, and the Byrd Amendment. He's dead.

So by the checkbook, NOBODY's innocent.

194. Let's base our opinion on past behavior. She supported George Bush's invasion of Iraq.
How do you rationalize that? She voted as Bush wanted. She yielded to them. A million people dead and 5 million displaced, a huge dept for our children and you can rationalize that away. We depended on her and others to fight the fascists and she failed us. I will never forgive her. How can you? Seriously, how can you forgive her?

As I view the discussions on this thread, I just wonder if we aren't arguing ourselves into a little corner, one that will cause a huge rift one way or the other after this primary season is over. The voluminous amount of hate is so palpable that I hase caused me and my politically active husband much disgust.

We haven't even received our mail-in ballots in Oregon yet.

On MSNBC this morning, it was stated that there are more than 10 million American who have not yet had a chance to vote because their state primaries are later.

Cordially,

Radio Lady in Oregon

She was appearing with Bill and Chelsea at the Palestra (Penn's gymnasium) last night, so that's why some of the supporters were there. The Daily Pennsylvanian (Penn's student newspaper) endorsed her. But there are Obama supporters on campus as well. I'll be interested to see the final results for Penn, actually. It's a decent cross-section of class, race, and gender, despite how it's painted in the media.

Yeah, NC will be tough. With the effort she's going to have to make in Indiana, I don't know how much time she'll be able to devote in NC. It's all pretty damned exciting, I think. I took this week away from GD-P and lived in the real world (I know! Freaky!) and I noticed that people were really excited and engaged in the political process. It's positive as well as negative that it's been dragging on this long. We're going to have record voter turnout today for a primary. I think that's good for democracy no matter who wins.

After 8 years of a war monger, HRC's words in the last debate about the umbrella over the middle east and her statements on Olberman last night solidify the fact that her ideology is a danger to world peace, and not so dissimilar from McCain or Bush.

There is a big difference between "did" and "might have done" And your "might have done" is by no means a point that you deserve to have conceeded in your favor.

I feel strongly that Obama supporters have been fooled. You feel we've been fooled. The funny thing about GD-P is that I'm pretty sure nobody's mind has been changed about their candidate here. If people changed their minds, it was because of what they experienced in real life. And yet people expend so very much energy here. I've started to realize how much of a waste of energy it is. But I did want to post my Hillary vote this morning, because I was inspired by my candidate and felt very positive about casting my vote.

168. We had a horse (riding horse) that couldn't be broke. It threw itself over backwards
with my dad seated on it.

He picked himself up, dusted himself off, and said, "we're selling her to the Amish. They know how to deal with horses like this one . . . break a 2 x 4 across its head."

And that's who bought her, hehehe . . .

America' policy since it got the bomb is that it will use it to defend it's stategic interests. MacArthur got slapped when he advocated using it on the Chinese/Koreans.

As for Israel, America has supported Israel but has never gone to war over it - not in '47, '57, '67 or '73 or '83.

I think a lot of innocent victims get caught up in peoples ignoring many times... someone has a bad day, misunderstands something, takes something out of context and BAM - they're on an ignore list.

I'm proud to say over 60% of my ignore list has since been Tombstoned. I usually never ignore someone until they have said something utterly inflammatory at least three times. :)

hes comparing this to the mcgovern campaign
where humphry broke the party because he didnt get his way
the old boys in the dem party let mcgovern go it without support giving the election to nixon

so he is saying hillary will do the same
destroy the party to avenge her loss

this is as close as i have ever heard a hillary supporter come to admitting the truth of their end game
if this is how you hillary people really in your hearts see it

171. Why I don't have you on "IGNORE" yet is beyond me.
I see nothing like your little paranoid fantasy: What I see is a popular candidate, perceived by many not to represent them, therefore they didn't vote, or voted for the other candidate.

AND you have the wrong convention: Humphrey got 2.22% of the vote in 1972.

Delegate Vote for Presidential Nomination

* George McGovern - 1,729 (57.37%)
* Henry M. Jackson - 525 (17.42%)
* George Wallace - 382 (12.67%)
* Shirley Chisholm - 152 (5.04%)
* Terry Sanford - 78 (2.59%)
* Hubert Humphrey - 67 (2.22%)
* Wilbur Mills - 34 (1.13%)
* Edmund Muskie - 25 (0.83%)
* Ted Kennedy - 13 (0.43%)
* Wayne Hays - 5 (0.17%)
* Eugene McCarthy - 2 (0.07%)
* Ramsey Clark - 1 (0.03%)
* Walter Mondale - 1 (0.03%)

GEEZ some of you people can't WAIT to pull your negative shit, CAN you?

my own memory of it is clear
humphry tried to pull a fast one at the convention but was stopped by a rules vote
after that the old school dems wouldnt back mcgovern
jackson had been out since his florida run and wallace was laying in a hospital bed with a gunshot wound
im sorry if you made a point you werent trying to make

Would you mind PM'ing the Friday Lottery numbers?

I like reading Hunter Thompson as well, but having seen friends spend some of their long years drug sotted, I don't exactly trust his analysis of the situation.

AND I was there. And Hubert Humphrey is spelled with an "e": either you're in too much of a hurry, or maybe you need to re-read before you post. It was the PARTY ELITES, not Humphrey who tried to pull a fast one, mainly because they were afraid McGovern couldn't pull the base. Which I must admit, although I worked long and hard for him, he didn't.

The party was not "split" by Humphrey: it was split by WALLACE.

We had loads of volunteers from all over the country: CA, TX, CO, KS, MI, MA, CT and bus loads of people from NY and NJ. We canvassed and phone banked our little hearts out.

109. Yeah, it feels good!
I voted in January, even though it wouldn't count. I didn't vote for Hillary. My vote was for "uncommitted", a motley consisting of Edwards and Obama and maybe some others. It still felt good to vote (and get away from DU-GD/P for an hour or so:))

My next vote is in November, when I'll vote for whichever Dem is heading the ticket.

209. Just listen to yourself. Democrats uber alles. Vie vill ban you if you don't
get in line. That isn't how a progressive speaks. The DLC and Clinton are also not progressive. Sen Clinton has snubbed the progressives in the party and now she is "talking tough" on Iran. Is this what you want? Just because she has a D after her name doesn't make her on the side of the working class.

I am a free American first, i won't get into lock step with anyone. If Exxon, Halliburton, General Electric, buy out the Democratic party, then it mite as well merge with the repukes.

She supports NAFTA and her pal Mark Penn adviser is a union buster.

117. Hi, janesez,
I caucused for Clinton in Colorado back on Feb. 5th. I comprised one of only a sixth of the caucus goers in my precinct, but even today I am still very proud and assured about my decision. Even in the small amount of substantive debate last week, one can tell that Clinton is ready to go. She will make a brilliant president.

Congrats! :bounce:

She will work harder than anyone on the national political stage, that much is obvious. And we need someone like that in the White House after the last 8 years. We need someone who can accomplish a ton very quickly, and then continue long-term. Hillary is best able to do that. Thanks for your work! :bounce:

Not surprising, I guess, since it's in a mall. Kind of a circle of screens with short "privacy panels" on three sides. Honestly, kept expecting the machine to ask if I wanted fries with my vote!

Edited to add: this was the last GE; we had a caucus in January, which is a whole different post.

175. LOL! Didn't think to ask, but
they should at least offer one of those sanitizing wipes. Nope, I guess they think those foot tall sides are enough to safeguard my privacy. First time I voted, they had those heavy maroon curtains that you drew behind you, and it seemed like I was engaging in an important process, I could feel the power of my vote as I marked that ballot. Now, I feel like I'm at an ATM deciding just how much I can affort to withdraw--more efficient, but less of a ceremony. :dilemma:

Delaware County is just west and a tiny bit south of Philly. About 15-20 minutes from Center City Philly. It's the least monied of the Philadelphia suburbs - mixed race, mixed socioeconomic status. Should be an interesting harbinger of the final results, actually.

Still hope I get one more chance to vote for her in November. :toast:
