Clinton voters are under 50K without college educations!!!!!!
"There's a reason why Clinton voters are under 50K without college educations."

This is the response I got from the Obama supporter Blondbostonian on a thread on this forum. If Obama wins this nomination but fails to keep "traditional" blue collar voters, this condescension should explain why. Not racism, not fear of change or lack of idealism. Simply- there are lots of us sick of the elitism and smugness.

ever since the Iowa caucus. There were only four of us in the Biden group, and the Hillary bunch were trying to get us to join their group. Those in the group included a female ex-secretary of state, our male county attorney, and every attorney in town.

Just makes me shake my head in "confusement".

Wow, Blondbostonian said "There's a reason why Clinton voters are under 50K without college educations."

What a telling comment. Do you think the moniker is real "Blondebostonian"?

Maybe I should call myself "Usedtobearedheadfromwaukegan,il" I guess it's not quite as "sexy".

Anyway, what an ignorant remark, quite elitist and not very accurate.

If things get worse for those voters, it will not just be more expensive to fuel the Beamer. It will be catastrophic. They are not impressed with Obama because they just can't afford to take the risk. They don't have the luxury to vote on the basis of inspiration or whatever.

20. I think that the upper levels of the Obama campaign
have tried to keep this undercurrent of "the cool kids club" under wraps, but they need to try harder.

I think that the "clinging to their guns and religion" comments would have been a non-issue were it not for the smug superiority on display by some of his more urbane supporters.

The "Obama is the party of college educated people, Hillary is the party of ignorant white fucks" contingent has caused what would otherwise be dismissed to ring true.

25. Yeah, tell me about it. I am college educated
I make over 50K and I'm originally from a small town. And I support Hillary!

When Obama made those remarks, it gave me a real window into why his appeal hasn't reached me. I honestly think that Obama simply doesn't "get" small towns - their differences, their similarities, what holds them together, and, most especially, their pride. Yeah, so some people in my town didn't go to college. They still put together good lives and have been valuable citizens - no matter WHICH party they belong to.

39. A glimpse of the "cool kids club"
By 6 p.m..the Elkins Park polling place on Ashbourne Road was packed with voters. Two lines that had 12 or fewer people an hour earlier had more than doubled as people finished their workdays and went to vote.

Several voters in the largely African-American community wore Obama t-shirts. Election judges said they often see no more than 100 to 200 voters all day at a primary, but that they had seen six or seven times that number today.

If Hillary loses -- the snottiness of her supporters will be a major factor.

28. I think HILLARY is the one who needs to be called out on elitism
I live in NC, and one only needs to contrast the type of ads she's running here versus in PA. In PA, it's been all about character assassination and kneejerk emotional gut responses (bitter, bin laden ads, etc.). In NC, we've had none of those ads. Instead, a few weeks ago, Hillary "invited" us in one of her ads to submit policy questions that she would answer in subsequent ads, which she has. They've been very policy-oriented and detailed in their breadth and scope.

So one wonders...why does she think that NC voters get the privilege of having policy ads but not PA? Why isn't she running kneejerk emotional ads here? Is she implying that Pennsylvanians are not good enough for the NC ads, or that they are unsophisticated enough to fall for them? Pennsylvania voters should question the disparity in ad techniques and question what it indicates about how Hillary perceives them.

at supporting the candidate that the poor and uneducated support. (LIke you, we are not in either of those categories, nor is the questioner.) The Hillary supporter in my family said he joined them with pride. Concern for those not as fortunate as yourself is basic to progressivism, and to the Democratic Party. Those with concern only for themselves, and respect only for those like themselves, are, in my experience, Republicans.
