1. God I hate Smudge - but if that's true... That's a HUGE win for Obama.

18. yes, if true (and I don't quite trust Drudge) a four point win for Hillary in PA would be
seen as somewhat of a setback for her. She would yield maybe a couple of more delegates than Obama.

22. You shouldn't be allowed to comment again after that
It's clear you have no fucking idea how politics work.

A 4 point win means it's over for Clinton.

25. Thats not the point
The point is he's had more money at his disposal than any candidate in history and has yet to win a big state besides his home state. If you don't see that as a serious issue then you're in for a huge shock come November.

35. And who started with more money?
Edited on Tue Apr-22-08 05:02 PM by wileedog
And how did he get the "most money of any candidate in history?"

Oh right, by beating the snot out of a Candidate who he was behind 33% in the national polls, who had a pre-instilled Brand Name, and who had all of the support of the party insiders. Even the media was in her pocket declaring her inevitability.

And he kicked her ass.

Leave the big state primary bullshit out of it, he isn't losing NY or CA, and he can carry a lot more potential swing states. If Hillary wins the nom she is stuck with the same focused state strategy that has failed* the last two elections and utterly destroyed her in this primary.

38. He may carry CA and NY
But he won't carry FL, OH, PA and most of the smaller red states he won in the primaries.

And what party insiders are you referring to? Pelosi? Kennedy? Kerry?

The bottom line is outspending your opponent 3 - 1 and walking away with a loss is not something to brag about.

41. Nor is it something worth overturning the vote for
Your side has the burden of proving the Obama is completely un-electable.

Not a little un-electable. Not sorta un-electable. Not that Hillary "may match up better in a few places. We think. Maybe. Hopefully."

If you want to overturn the PD vote you need a rock solid case that Obama has zero shot in the GE.

You don't have that, even with a *PRIMARY* victory in PA.

5. Don't trust exit poll numbers, they've all mostly been wrong.
Go by demographic exit polls, which are more reliable.

We know that these early exits have overreported Obama's digits in the past.

20. Holy Shit. NRO is reporting we are on the verge of a "stunner" - Obama 52, Hillary 47!
...

On the Verge of a Stunner in Pennsylvania?

Hold on to your hats. I've gotten the usual word of the exit poll results from one of my usual reliable sources. He notes that Obama traditionally over-performs in the earliest exit polls, and that he expects the numbers to change as the night wears on - perhaps a reversal.

But right now, the exits are saying Obama 52 percent, Clinton 47 percent.

Take these results with the usual grains of salt and skepticism. I'm told that Obama is carrying blue collar workers two to one, and he's winning Philadelphia in the neighborhood of three to one.

As usual, if you're a Pennsylvanian and haven't voted yet, don't let these or any other numbers discourage you.

Anyone out there who wishes to, please do.

Note that NRO is a decidedly right-leaning blog but they are reputable...and were close to dead on with early exits this season.

As an Obama supporter, I'd be ELATED with this result. But if Drudge says it, I know it ain't true.

28. Why did I already hear that she may win by as much as 20 points based on exits?
I heard turnout in AA areas wasn't that high.

I refuse to get my hopes up. I already had them plummet today.

We will see.

33. I take these early exits with a grain of salt, but I'll be giddy
if it turns out to be true.

Then there the one from *gag* NRO that shows Obama up 52-47.

Experience tells me it's best to wait for the actual results.
