The dem leadership was afraid to stand up to the repubs when the repubs had the majority, they are afraid to stand up when we have the majority. The repubs get most of their projects passed when they have the majority, they get most of them passed when we have the majority. They got most of them passed last time we had the Presidency as well. Why are we supposed to believe they've discovered some will to confront issues or to solve problems now? I don't think they remember how to.
Two or three months ago I had high hopes for this year, we had a good chance to not only win the Presidency but maybe even end up with both houses of Congress. Maybe with ALL the cards we would have stopped being afraid of our own shadows. But now? I gave us a 20% chance a couple of weeks ago of winning the Presidency under our strongest candidate, Obama, and nearly no chance if Clinton, the last couple of weeks hasn't improved those odds. We've thrown it all away for gutter politics and misplaced pride because the party is scared of the Clinton's too. Hell, they are afraid of everyone else, why should they be an exception?
This will continue until even a blind man can see it's too late, but of course by then it will be well and truly too late, because nobody has the guts or integrity to stop it.
