Why wouldn't Obama win the big states??
In all of them, the Dems drew FOUR AND FIVE TIMES the number of Rape-Publican voters. (Last night it was more than five times the votes that Grampa got...)

So why wouldn't Obama win the big states after he's officially declared the nominee and the Party unites behind him? It sounds like FOUR AND FIVE TIMES the voters as McBush is a surefire win in the big states.

22. while he wil win Illinois in the GE
NO WAY he wins Texas....either will Hillary. I'm not as concerned about the big BLUE states...but it's the swing states like Pennsylvania that concerns me. That said..I can't see how Obama loses this nomination.

30. He didn't win the popular vote in TX, Hillary won by over 100,000 votes.
He only won a few more delegates thanks to the caucus, which as we all know disenfranchises too many people.

2. he would, that's why they wont say "Obama will lose California, New York"
because it shows how stupid it is.

so they say things like "Obama can't win big states". and morons think they are talking about Texas which no Dem will win anyways.

6. Hillary won blue colar Scanton by about 50 points - white men and women overall - women by 2 to 1 &
52% of Hillary voters in PA say they will not vote Democratic in the general if she is not on the ticket (22% of Hillary voters say the same nationwide).

9. As I've learned quite definitively around here...
...a lot of Hilly voters talk out of their asses out of spite.

(And I'm no math major, but it looks to me like those margins can amply survive a 20 point "pout vote.")

8. Chris Matthews has admitted the media is LYING to Hillary voters that she 'can' still win
and some are even saying that the prolonged race is GOOD for the party.

They are lying and too many casual Dem voters are buying the media lie.

Clintons have known they can't win since Super Tuesday, and they have no problem lying to Dem voters, either.

20. It's much more complicated than that. He and his surrogates nixed a revote, too.
It will be an issue in November if he is the nominee.

23. Yeah and Hillary agreed to leave them out. And then FLIP-FLOPPED!
Of course they try to work for what will help them. Too bad for Hillary it had already been decided and SIGNED OFF
on by all of the candidates INCLUDING Hillary herself.

Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 09:23 AM by Xap
there have been large numbers of people casting primary and caucus votes for Hillary based on their own fervent racism, sexism, bigotry, hate, etc. Those things could carry over to the GE.

A principled voter, on the other hand, would recognize that there is not a lot of difference in the actual positions of Clinton and Obama so either one would be acceptable and certainly far better than any Republican.

21. Well, the Republican primary was a no-brainer a long time ago...
...and a small turn-out isn't a surprise. They'll do better when something's at stake, like control of the White House--but I do believe that the big states will tend Dem in November.

26. He won the Cities of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh
It's just the red part of the state he loses, but I thought according to Hillary red states don't count? I guess red parts of big states count but 100% red states don't count? This logic is stupid.

29. Classic Bullshit Spin
Since Hillary won California and New York vs. Obama, somehow this translates into Obama being unable to win California and New York vs. McCain.

Anybody who things California and New York are going for McCain over Obama is either delusional or dumber than a sack of doorknobs.

McCain is going to get beaten like a rented mule in the 2008 General Election. He's headed for an ass-whuppin' that will make Walter Mondale look like a contender. That's why this primary is so vicious and protracted. Whoever gets the Democratic nomination is going to be the next president.

That's why Hillary is trying to claw out a win and she's not giving up.
