Has Anyone here heard of "The Denver Plan"?

If the contest has not been decided by Denver, there is a plan to install Al Gore as the Pres. nominee and to put either Obama or Clinton as the VP, depending on the delegate count.

I think Howard Dean has spelled it out to the two of them and they are now fighting for the VP slot, with the idea that in 8 years one or the other will be the presumptive nominee.

Look, Dean was my gov for 11 years. I'm familiar with him. There's nothing he's less likely to do- and he's repeatedly said that the nominee will be either Clinton or Obama. Sorry, you're fantasizing.

I wrote about that in a blog post a while ago. I found an article from 2004 when he was running for Senate about how Obama had been compared to Dean...this was before he even won the primary for the Senate seat.

I'm not fantasizing...I want Obama to be the nominee. But I am saying that you may be wrong to suggest that Dean would never let that happen.

5. I'd be ok with it if Obama is VP

I'm not a big Gore fan but at this point a Gore/Obama ticket would simultaneously break my heart and make me relieved. As much as I believe in Obama, I am losing faith in this country and our ability to see beyond both racial divides and fear-mongering to elect him. I'm also worried about the perception of inexperience, even though I personally believe that having less experience in Washington and more experience as a state legislator is a plus, since state legislators do more of the actual work themselves, and the more years in Washington, the more cynical and disconnected from ordinary Americans a senator inevitably becomes. But a lot of people worry that he does not have enough experience, and if he were to run for VP this year, he would either be VP for 4 or 8 years and get to run again in 8 years with an easier path to the nomination, more experience, and fewer Jim Crow era racists still alive. And if he runs for VP and loses, he'll be the frontrunner for the nomination in 4 years and have 4 more years of experience under his belt by then. So maybe it's not such a bad deal for him, as long as his supporters don't feel that he was "sent to the back of the bus" (I am not trying to play the race card here, but I am worried that that is how some of his African American supporters would feel).

There's no way in hell we'd see a Gore/Clinton ticket, given their history and the fact that it doesn't make any sense.
