It's time to put this primary behind us and back Barack Obama

As I said repeatedly in some threads, I thought it'd be good to have its own thread.

That said, I'm looking forward to working with the Hillary supporters in getting Barack Obama elected president. I would do the same if she was in Obama's position but she's not.

We need to focus on how to beat McCain. It's time to put this primary season behind us. I'll even come home to Minnesota and do a bit of last minute campaigning in November. I will watch Barack Obama win the presidency and I will watch Barack Obama become President Barack Obama January 20, 2009.

Despite all the bickering and arguments, we are all Democrats and we're still under the same umbrella. It's time to back the winner and that's Barack Obama.

It's mathematically impossible for her to catch up in SDs and she's alienated Obama's supporters in her quest to beat down Obama in the hopes of winning PA (and not by much).

1. This is a recommendation I have never seen before on DU.

If BO wins, Catholics and middle-age white women go to McCain (mostly). For the good of the party, he cannot be the nominee. Anyway, she is only behind because FL has been disenfranchised.

The whispering campaign to villify HC that BO has run here, in the liberal media* and elsewhere, has destroyed any chance of reconciliation. The chicken-shit stuff you accuse HC of doing is frankly laughable in comparison. You burnt that bridge months ago. I've gone from asking "What's he ever done?" to hating Obama's guts.


*I mean the openly liberal parts of the media and am not suggesting the whole media establishment is liberal the way the Rs do.

2. I will say that my Irish-American Catholic

family and friends are backing Obama. I have a friend who voted Hillary in Virginia who now regrets her vote.

He WILL be the nominee, no matter how you split it. We need to work together to beat McCain in the fall.

I feel the same as you. Hate HRC and Bills guts. HRC nominated = I vote MCCAIN TOO!

Either way it goes I see the Democractic taking on a new future face - but first it must fall!

I don't believe the press - if either side does not get their candidate - MCCAIN will win!

Indiana... Obama is currently there. He could easily cut into Hillary's lead there.

It will be the SDs alone who CAN put her over the top.

But let me see if I understand what you're saying. Your guy lost pretty big yesterday. And he's still not gotten the required number of delegates (super or otherwise) to actually WIN the nomination. But despite that, it's TIME for those of us who disagree with YOU, and who support another candidate, to drop it and just declare your guy the winner.

If Obabma were such a winner, he'd have put this thing away long ago.
