I was neither really happy or really sad last night with Obama's loss in PA; could have been better, could have been worse. It keeps Hillary thinking she's in the game, but it also did nothing to bring her closer to a delegate victory.
Calling it like I saw it, I will credit Hillary with a fine speech last night which spoke directly to the people of PA and included some original (albeit sentimental) thinking. Obama's speech in Indiana was the usual inspirational stuff, the problem is it was the usual inspirational stuff.
Barack Obama came on the scene with a message and a delivery that literally moved people to tears. Politicians with oratory skills such as his come along only once or twice in a generation and I am a strong supporter. Yet last night his words seemed tired. Even a favorite song gets old if you play it enough.
Specifically, Obama needs to be less globally inspiring - and tailor make his wonderful words more to address bread and butter issues facing the people of the geographic region he is speaking to. Yes, we know Obama is a visionary; but we also need to hear more of the words from the heartland which simple says I get it.
I have every confidence Obama will prevail when this crazy long primary season finally ends. But rumor has it the rethugs will be airing an anti-Obama ad in N.C. starting in a day or so - and they will be playing the race card. That means Hillary, Bill, and the pukes are all gunning to cause an Obama collapse. We all know the GOP does not want to be running against Barack this fall.
I am advocating that even with all the amazing rhetoric and words that Obama has shared, he needs a NEW and different message to keep the ball rolling with equal enthusiasm. Think something more down to earth.
It is fun to think that somehow when a DUer pontificates, that an aid to a staffer of Obama happens to read this stuff, takes notes, and passes it up the line to the candidate. Yea right! :sarcasm:
But just for the hell of it, there ya go Obama - consider it advice from a voter that really thinks your going to make a damn good president!
