A reminder that Obama only congratulated Hillary on her PA victory...
When he lost the PA primary to her, he did nothing but be as gracious as possible. He congratulated her, and Obama supporters should do the same. Let's follow his lead, and attempt to take the high road here. I know it is difficult with all the constant attacks leveled at Obama, but let's not become that which we profess to oppose so much.

Obama did nothing but criticize McCain, and that's what we should do. Actually that's what I think all Democrats should do, is start attempting to get past this divisive bickering between us and focus on the real goal, to get a Democrat in the White House in '08. I personally hope that Democrat is Obama, but if Hillary ends up the candidate I am definitely going to vote for her, despite the tone of her campaign.

Let's focus on what Obama was focusing on:

The war, the economy, health care. These are the important issues for our country, not the constant bickering over minor gaffes.

Thanks for reading.

-A proud Obama supporter

OBAMA '08!

1. Take the high road
This is important--for both groups. As a Kucinich supporter, I applaud this OP, and hope that the Clinton folks follow your lead. I'm tired of the sniping in the GD P forum.

2. Agree -- and he was right to do so.

But what I find interesting about this entire instance, is that it's touted as such a big victory for Hillary, when in actuality it's a resounding showing by Obama.

The MSM and we, it seems, are reacting as though Obama was favored heavily to take the state and instead "lost". That's not the reality of the situatio at all.

I guess we're just used to him coming out ahead in almost every state. :7

3. It's OK, it's both a vicotry for Hillary and a resounding showing by Obama.
That's OK. It can be both. It is a victory for Clinton, but it is also a resounding showing by Obama. He DID gain a lot of ground on her when she was previously ahead by 20 points.

This will all be reversed in the next state, he is favored to win there and he WILL win. Let's not get too overboard now, that primary is just around the corner and the tune will change then.

7. I notice this pattern
after every primary, whether it's an Obama win or a Hillary win, the MSM acts like it's all over for the candidate who lost. Most of what happened last night was expected. I do have to say, 2 weeks ago I thought the gap would be narrower though. I think Obama did take some hits among certain demographics from the MSM recent focus on gaffes and insinuations from pundits and talk show hosts on the right.

5. He definitely did good in his speech last night
As you mentioned----focusing on McCain and criticizing the distractions of petty non-issues. And congratulating Hillary was gracious.

6. I couldn't agree more.
I am extremely proud of his response when the crowd began to boo Hillary, he said : "No, no, please, she ran a great campaign."

You can't get much more gracious than that.

9. He did take the high road. Hillary did not.
She felt the need to mock him in her speech. Very illustrative of this entire campaign.

10. As I've said before...
Obama is running against McCain. Hillary is running against Obama...

He is fighting a war on 2 fronts now. Considering this I think he's doing a helluva good job.

12. And what did she do in her victory speech? MOCK HIM.
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 02:06 PM by redqueen
Oh and on edit: she also stole the slogan his campaign has been using, and changed it and tried to make it hers.

Sickening.
