$9mil: money well spent
He tore her lead down from 25 to 9 and inured that she cant win with whats left.

So he spent 9 mil on a hammer and a box of nails. If you listen, you can hear the hammering right now.

4. She is still way behind, and bankrupt

N. Carolina will more than wipe out the minor gain she has made in PA.

This race was over a long time ago. It's absurd that anyone in her position would still be running.

She raised $10 million in the last 18 hours or so alone
Do you Obama supporters realize NC is not the only state that votes on 5/6 and which state comes up on 5/13? Check out how Obama performed in the southwestern counties of Pennsylvania for a preview of 5/13...

11. Going by McAuliffe's projection.
Edited on Wed Apr-23-08 02:50 PM by americanstranger
Sounds like bald-faced hype to me. But more than one Clinton supporter has latched onto that figure and they're crowing about it like the money's in the bank.

It's not. See my post (#10 in this thread) for the real story.

10. Man, you guys swallowed that bait whole, dincha?
Look at what was actually said:

On MSNBC just now, top Hillary adviser Terry McAuliffe claimed that by the end of today, the Hillary campaign will have raised $10 million since she was declared winner yesterday.

http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/04/hillary_on_track_to_raise_10_m.php

'By the end of today' does NOT equal 'in the past 18 hours or so.'

'Will have raised' does NOT equal 'has raised.'

In short - that $10 million you guys have been crowing about ain't in the bank yet. And good luck trusting Terry McAwful's word on anything.

17. Who cares? The point is the money is rolling in and the Obamite dream of her going broke is dead
I read it second hand. What we know for sure is $4 million rolled in by the end of last night alone.

18. HAHAHA! In Hillaryworld, $4 million = $10 million!
No wonder her campaign's bankrupt.

The lesson here is don't drop numbers you don't check for veracity yourself. Someone here will call you on it.

23. Yeah, but a few posts up in this thread
you were touting the $10 million as a hard number that had already been collected.

Nice backtrack. You're almost as good at moving goalposts as your candidate's campaign.

28. Well, I read that figure while reading a post in class
I didn't call Dick Tracy and have him investigate. :eyes: It is funny how fake goalposts exist in the political class that the real world couldn't care less about. The whole game about 10% versus 9.6% or 8.7% is a perfect example. No one cares in the real world. She won and did so comfortably and that is all that matters in the real world.

29. So, you posted the $10 million number...why?
To see if you could score a rhetorical point? To see if everyone else accepted the number as uncritically as you did?

Don't they teach you to do research to back up your assertions in whatever class it is you're taking?

For a while there, I used to read your posts and take your assertions more or less at face value.

I'll be very careful not to do that in the future. You should be more mindful of your own credibility, it's an asset when you actually have a point to make. Especially in the 'real world.'

30. The point remains either way: the money has been rolling in since last night
Whether that ultimately turns out to be 8, 9, 10, or 11 doesn't matter.

5. It was $11 million on tv ads, $5 million on travel
Losing by 9 is nothing to be proud of with that kind of spending, especially since what you post is misleading. You cherry pick his low point after he lost Ohio and Texas. Prior to that he was down 4-6. The reality is he was down 4-6, fell down about 20, and lost by 9. All this for $16 million? Amazing feat! It took him $1 million on ads alone to recover each point he lost. This is Romneyesque "efficiency".

14. HA! Good point!
But I tend to think that it was Riles that made that trade go, because he knew that Shaq was done listening to him.

Riles knows that eventually, his players tune out. He should hope that The Matrix doesn't bolt for greener pastures, tho.

Well, maybe not these Knicks. But I get your point.

BTW - Van Gundy turned Walsh down for the coaching gig, as I knew he would. I want Tom Thibodeaux, but I get the feeling Mark Jackson will be NYK's new coach.

Defense first!

but NOT these Knicks.

I grew up with Jax in queens, and I'd be all to happy with him as coach.

Obama, Walsh, Jackson!

That's change I can believe in.

(and get rid of Dolan...)
