Why do words mean more than actions? Which speaks louder? Words? or Actions?

Priests abuse (for decades) their denial leads to slow justice,
which leads to priests being re-assigned,
which leads to the 2008 visit of pope to US,
which leads to 24/7 coverage of religious ceremonies along with full commentary about the history of Catholic customs. Pope apologizes. Americans cheer....all is well.

Rev. Wright (for decades) does work in his ministry
that leads to community justice,
which leads to helping people up,
which leads to his preaching,
which leads to his words,
which leads to 24/7 coverage of his words, which leads to more 24/7 coverage of the same words. Obama apologizes. Americans worry about words.....all is not well.

Bill Clinton (for decades) struggled with sex addiction
which led to cover ups,
which led to bargaining to get out of trouble,
which led to more cover ups,
which led to pain and hurt for the family,
which led to Monica,
which led to 27/7 coverage of impeachment and political hypocrites, which led to the American voters, which led to G W Bush, which led to Iraq, which led to dead American and dead Iraquies.

Michelle Obama (for decades) works to get an education,
which leads to work,
which leads to accomplishments,
which leads to success,
which leads to to her words,
which leads to 27/7 coverage of her words, which leads to more 24/7 coverage of the same words. Michelle apologizes. Americans worry about words...all is not well.

In this country, where fast food rules and the cell phone is king, we swallow the food we are fed, spoon by spoon, until we are owned by the powerful.

We no longer think.

We feel. We feel this and we feel that. What we know, however, can be found on the head of a pin.

This morning, on CNN, I watched and listened to an Iranian diplomat explain Iran's position.

He spoke in fluent English. He was able to communicate in English. So is the rest of the world.

Americans are fluent in cell phone short hand text. R U 2 ????

In this country, words trump actions. Actions count for very little here. We are a wordy country, fasinated by what comes out of our own mouths.

2. I took you at least halfway seriously
I took you at least halfway seriously until you implied that the Iraqi Occupation was a direct result of Pres. Clinton's infidelities.

At that point, I decided to allow your post all the consideration it's due..... :crickets:

Just. Wow.

3. G W Bush, the clown the former druggie, should have been blown out of the water in 2000.
But the vote was close enough to be stolen.

Bush's words in 2000 won over enough people who were looking for a reason to abandon the Democrats. Specifically because of the Monica shame.

Sorry to say, that when a pebble is thrown in the water, control over the ripples is not possible. For you to assert that the history of how GW got elected does not reflect on the Monica shame, denies history. Cause and affect.

Once that pebble is cast, where it will lead, no one can say. But to deny, that the Monica shame, had no affect on the 2000 election, is to either be very young and not born then, or very old with memory issues.
