Corp. Media PASTORBAITING again! It must really be good to them......
and they must have been wearing earmuffs when Obama talked to our nation about the ills of racism in our unperfected Union.

The Cable Triplets are breathlessly pastorbaiting orally about an interview that Rev. Wright gave to Bill Moyers, that will not be aired till tonight. However, the media has already yanked what they wanted from the interview, and are attempting to once again, use Rev. Wrights comments against Sen. Obama. Again the context is missing and so is the thought that Rev. Wright is Rev. Wright, and what he says is what he says, and that he is not running.

It is like the media has forced collective amnesia in what the American people have already made clear; We want some coverage and answers to more pressing issues; the price of oil, the price of food, the mortgage collapse, the outsourcing of jobs, the Iraq war and what we are spending there daily, etc.....

It appears that Rev. Wright was supposed to never be seen or heard from ever again, and since he has, whatever he chooses to say is again directly linked to Obama, as though Obama said it.

Please write to your networks and cable channels and tell them to cut it out. Let them know that their public pastor-bating is indecent and assaults the senses. Use the word PASTORBAITING to let them know that their behavior is unacceptable.

Contact MSNBC through their "NewsTip" contact form: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18616878/
CNN lists all shows with contact link- http://www.cnn.com/feedback/cnntv/

Also, contact your local news channels and/or Newspaper publications (particularly in Indiana & North Carolina) via this handy tool!- http://www.congress.org/congressorg/dbq/media/

It is time to say, enough is enough. If we don't contact them, maybe no one will. It is our job to start fighting for the nominee, and time for the Corporate media to be put on notice that we will not tolerate the nonsense anymore.

Thank you.

2. Since Rev. Wright is all of the "rage", we needed new terms to adequately
describe what the media is doing; Pastorbaiting us with a bunch of nonsense.

They really are the instigators as to why our discourse is so miserable. I blame the media for much. I realize that they have their corporate masters to appease, but their attempts are too transparent to be tolerated. If we don't tell them how out of line they are, they will proceed without a clue tearing our country apart.

3. I'm glad Wright is getting this out of his system now
It actually seems to be pretty good timing. The media can devote a couple more news cycles to playing up the same old non-issue again that everybody in the nation already has a pretty solid opinion on one way or the other.

16. I agree but I'll take it one step further. The more the public sees him as he really is i.e.
talking to Bill Moyers, the more they will realize that he is a 'normal' person, not a crazed, fucking lunatic like the media portrayed him. It gives him a chance to explain what he's all about, what his church is about, and what his sermons really meant, sans the sound bites.

This had pretty much died down (except on Fox, of course). If Wright had done this interview sooner, it might have all been over at once. What do you expect the media to do, when he comes out with this interview now? If they ignored it, you'd be complaining about that.

If you've noticed their coverage is turning more and more away from the primaries.

The people have settled on the nominees and are sick of hearing about it.

So now they're bringing out Wright again in an attempt to squeeze just a little bit more from this. All it will do is serve to completely tire out people on Wright. That is good for Obama in the GE.

speech for political reasons. They're saying he just undercut Obama's whole message-that he's NOT an old-type politician, and that his speech was "just politics." (Of course it was politics-to give a speech about how he feels about race. That doesn't make him a phony as they're painting it. They keep using Wright's statement that Obama does what he has to do "as a politician" as "throwing Obama under the bus" when all he meant is that Obama is Obama and Wright is Wright-one's a pastor and one IS a politician-an honest, brilliant politician.

I don't think this is as big a deal as the MSM wants it to be and I certainly don't think its a game changer. Everybody already knows Wright is a nut. Matthews actually suggested yesterday that Rev. Wright was Obama's "Iraq"(referring to clinton's vote for going in).I think we should write to MSNBC and complain about that comment.

28. I think it's pretty relevant
During the original pastor-gate one issue was that Obama had known Wright for 20 years and so should have had a pretty good idea about what he was involving himself with. But just as a twenty year relationship means that Obama knows something about Wright, it also means that Wright knows something about Obama. And if Wright thinks that Obama is being insincere in what he's saying - if Wright says he's responding "as a politician" - then the comments tells us three things:

1) That at least Pastor Wright doesn't think that Obama is a new sort of politician. He thinks Obama plays the same political posturing game as every other politician. And that does a lot to undermine a core Obama message.

2) Wright doesn't think that Obama is really that upset by what was said in the sermons. Wright seems to think that Obama, even if he didn't agree with those sermons, was perfectly comfortable sitting through them. And that does a lot to undermine Obama's main defense surrounding the first pastor-gate (that Obama found the comments offensive too).

So certainly I don't think the coverage is irrelevant "pastor-bating." It goes straight to the issue of Obama's credibility and ties into a building narrative around the Obama-credibility issue.

Joe Watkins on MSNBC yesterday said that Reverend Wright threw Obama under the bus. First of all, the term "throwing under the bus" is the most overused term in the history of overused terms.

Watkins said that Wright threw Obama under the bus because he called Obama....wait for it....."a politician." Yes ladies and gentleman, Obama is running for President of the USA. And if Rev. Wright calls him a politician, he's throwing Obama under the bus. The media is batshit crazy

"PLEASE STOP with the pastorbating! NOW you're taking his NEW comments out of context. He did NOT say Obama is "just a typical politician." The race speech Obama gave wasn't "politics as usual." He could've just avoided the whole thing, given a short statement, or thrown him under the bus. But he didn't-he gave a heartfelt, self-written speech. Why do you continue to cover Wright as if HE'S running for president? Obama just gave a press conference and the only response you covered was his response to the Wright interview. STOP already or I'LL stop watching you!"

I am sure Wright has asked Obama whether or not to go on these shows. Any additional appearances by Wright will only help Obama, not hinder him in any way.

Obama didn't denounce his pastor and I think his supporters shouldn't do so either.

The best way to exorcise this "problem" is to show the world Rev. Wright is not the devil the mainstream media made him out to be.

Bill Moyer and Jeremiah Wright are the BEST!

Bill Moyers interviews the Reverend Jeremiah Wright in his first broadcast interview with a journalist since he became embroiled in a controversy for his remarks and his relationship with Barack Obama. Wright, who retired in early 2008 as pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where Senator Obama is a member, has been at the center of controversy for comments he made during sermons, which surfaced in the press in March.

Part Two: http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/04252008/watch2.html

April 25, 2008

More than 3,000 news stories have been penned since early April about Jeremiah Wright and Barack Obama. But behind the five second loop is a man who has preached three different sermons nearly every Sunday since 1972. In his interview on BILL MOYERS JOURNAL, Reverend Wright discusses what drew him to the pulpit and the recent controversy surrounding him.
