Something important to remember whether you support Clinton or Obama
BOTH Hillary Clinton & Barack Obama voted "NO" on the confirmation hearings of BOTH John Roberts, & Sam Ailito...What does this mean?...It means that BOTH Clinton & Obama can be trusted on the highly important issue of SCOTUS appointments.....Perhaps if there were term limits on high court appts., maybe this wouldn't be such a significant issue, but alas, these are appts. for life...To put in perspective, I was in kindergarden when John Paul Stevens was nominated to the SC in 1975, & he is still there today - thankfully....

Furthermore, John McBush has voted YES on the following SC nominations: Antonin Scalia, Robert Bork (but his nomination was defeated :woohoo: ) Clarence Thomas, John Roberts, & Sam Ailito....Kinda gives you an idea of where the "maverick" (as he's so incorrectly labeled by the MSM) stands on SC appts....

Some of the great wonders of the world are the pyramids of Egypt, the Great Wall of China, Stonehenge, & last but not least, HOW ON FUCKING EARTH CAN ANYONE WHO IS A DEMOCRAT EVEN CONSIDER VOTING FOR JOHN W McBUSH...(a few orange bang heads are in order here)...

The thought of McBush being in a position to appoint more people to the SCOTUS gives me nightmares!

7. I'm a Hillary supporter and I wouldn't vote for a repuke
no matter how pissed off the Obama supporters get me!

I don't care what the polls say, Hillary supporters are Democrats and will vote for whomever the Democratic candidate is!

8. SCOTUS is the number one reason
I'd vote for a candidate I'm not really happy with. Health Care, strides toward a green industry and environment, repealing tax cuts for the wealthy, are other reasons.

There is no way I would consider NOT voting for the Dem candidate. There is too much at stake.

14. I sincerely believe that both our Democratic candidates
Edited on Sat Apr-26-08 11:59 PM by vixengrl
would do one hell of a lot better at picking a Suprme Court justice--and that is why I have decided--

There is no 2012. There is no revanchement. There is no "Let's regroup because we were so unsettled by all the big bad Bushite posturing."

There is only now.

Hillary Clinton would not give us a Scalia. She would choke first. I believe that. Barack Obama would not give us a Clarence Thomas. He would gag on the idea. Both of them are respectable as not just politicians, but legal minds, and they are both undoubtedly, more liberal than McCain, who has already told us which way he would go. They both are more in tune with my values, as a progressive Democrat, and they both would, if not fulfill my three major wishes, not being genies, would at least run things more commensurate with my ideals:

A) Being competent.

B) Not being narrow.

C) Not being a Republican--the party that brought us Nixon, Watergate, Reagan, Iran-Contra, Bush, the unfinished Persian Gulf (let's see how these missles work) conflict (Grenada, Panama, bases in Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador....) And finally W-- the current Iraq War, torture, Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo....the Yoo memo, the unitary executive....

If anyone cares to have their country back, they will vote Democratic. I don't think John McCain would willingly or knowingly sell out our republic--but I don't credit his intellect or his resolve all that much seeing the capitulation on the DTA, to the MCA...to the CIA...still waterboarding. Principles? Where?

Our Black-robed Nine are no Immortals. And it's the oldest--and our more liberal, who have the sketchy Magic-8-Ball fortune. We can't wait 4 years. We need a Dem in office--now.
