So what do we think about the DNC's 100 Years in Iraq Ad?
http://www.democrats.org/a/2008/04/dnc_ad_on_mccai.php

To me, this ad is very effective at illustrating one CLEAR reason why voters should NOT consider McCain for President. It also takes a time-honored Republican tactic (fearmongering) and turns it right back against them. If we are going to be afraid of anything, we should be afraid of the generations of young men and women who would potentially be forced to serve in such a costly and immoral war.

Additionally, as I watched it, it also became clear to me why Hillary Clinton's 3 AM ad was not appropriate in a democratic primary contest. This is the sort of argument we make against Republicans, not our fellow Democrats.

1. It's ok with me.
McCain is shown to be completely out of touch with what the majority of Americans want in Iraq.

2. excellent because 100 years in Iraq with McShame is a big, big draft
we were talking about our grandsons who are 4th grade and look likely to be serving in a draft in years to come.

What kind of future is that!

3. Very good, tho a bit watered down from what was possilbe to do...
(a) they could've included the 10,000 years comment.
(b) they could've multiplied the average American deaths per year by 100 to give the viewer a feel for the cost in American lives.

But still an excellent and honest ad.

4. I like it so much I wish I could donate to the DNC
Unfortunately, so long as there is any chance whatsoever that Hillary Clinton will be the nominee, I cannot in good conscience donate to any porganizatio that stands any chance whatsoever of helping her efforts.

6. IF she steals it, I'll vote for her
Edited on Sun Apr-27-08 07:25 PM by IWantAnyDem
But not one thin dime will I donate.

Not one moment of attempting to convince anybody else to vote for her.

When friends and family rail against her, I will quietly agree and move on.

I no longer consider her to be anything other than a Dem in Name Only.

7. Liked the first one better...

...because the McCain campaign obviously know that if the voters figure out Obama will be better for their pocketbook, he's finished, and that was a good way to start ripping the facade off his lies.

Plus the McCain campaign is already whipping up the hyperbolic outrage at the 100 year quote being hammered on.

But this one is good, too.

I hope the next ones hit more economics, environment, economics, health care, economics, education, economics, economics and economics. Oh yeah, and economics.
