have actually watched any of Rev. Wrights coments from last night...and are responding to the tiny snippets that Joe's hatchet team has picked out for this morning. They havent a clue what the speach was actually about....they were snoring away while the rest of us tried to actually learn something!!! and all Tucker can talk about is his hang over from the Press's love-fest with Bush on Sat. night. Grrrrr!!!

17. I made that same decision shortly after Obama gave his speech on race.
I'm much happier for it. :D

29. Me too-I gave up on them a long time ago
I can't believe that I have to turn to CNN just to be able to stomach the news at all. I wouldn't watch MSNBC anymore at all if it wasn't for Keith. And I used to keep MSNBC on all day long.

2. Me too!
There was a time when I had a sliver of hope that Mika would be stronger, and brighter, but alas. It was not to be. She's a wimp to Joe's bulldozing, and acts dumber than a stick. And she gleefully joins in on all the mean spirited attacks.

Blat.

3. They are just so clueless and typical of the corporate media and many Americans
Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 05:43 AM by Cali_Democrat
Such narrow thinking. I'm really disappointed in this country. I guarantee you most people in Canada and Europe would know exactly what Wright is talking about, yet many Americans just can't see it.

Wright was mocking people who insinuate that Obama was a Muslim because of his middle name. He brilliantly said that Arabic is not a religion, so to say Obama is a Muslim because of his Arabic middle name is absurd. This takes cultural understanding, something that many Americans lack.

7. Learn what?
Wright has nothing to do with this election. It's just random noise, and it saddens me greatly that so many DU'ers cling to the topic as if it has any real meaning.

10. Knowledge is power. The voters should know all about Wright's descriptions about why it's not
unpatriotic for him to call on God to damn America.

He's probably going to have his own tv show.

20. Wright isn't running for anything
The voters don't need to learn ANYTHING about him, he is irrelevant to the voting process.

The only people who seem to care about Wright are Hillary supporters, and not just any Hillary supporters but rather that subset who will do ANYTHING to beat Obama, regardless of whether the issues they raise are pertinent or not, and without concern whether they hurt the Democratic Party as a whole.

Oh, and of course, anyone who supports McCain just loves the whole Wright manufactured "controversy".

26. Some need more description than others. Some learn differently.

"When it came to treating her citizens of African descent fairly, America failed. The government put them in chains. She put them on slave quarters, put them on auction blocks, put them in cotton fields, put them in inferior schools, put them in sub-standard housing, put them in scientific experiments, put them in the lowest paying jobs, put them outside the equal protection of the law, kept them out of their racist bastions of higher education, and locked them into positions of hopelessness and helplessness. The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three strike law, and then wants us to sing God Bless America…no, no, no

Not God bless America, God damn America. That's in the Bible, for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating her citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme. The United States government has failed the vast majority of her citizens of African descent. Think about this, think about this."

instead spewing his racist bile. :grr:

I'm seeing a "corporate whore" side of Mika that is very disconcerting. When Joe S. comes back they should be "best buddies" - they're both racist enough to join Pat and Willy in a little "white supremacy club." But fear not, they had some POLITICAL HRC supporting Black Preacher on disrespecting Rev. Wright ... they call that "cover" ... I call it contrived bullshit! :puke:

8. It is not their job to approach
Rev Wright in an intellectually honest discussion.

It is their job to pick out the tiny snippets and blow them up into sound bites so they can pump the "Rev Wright Issue" ad infinitum into the GE. This is what they are paid to do. If you turn on the usual suspects in the corporate media expecting anything different, you will be disappointed.

12. I think it's a huge mistake for Wright to try to put himself in context.
Over two thirds of the voting population does not think or understand "in context." If they did, they would have seen early on that Bill Clinton's remarks about the Jackson races of '84 and '88 were not racist or playing the race card. A lot of what he said in another campaign could have been said about Dukakis and even Al Gore.

Wright has nothing to apologize for. It's not his fault that Obama chose to run now. It has been Obama's campaign that has hurt this decent and noble man. He has a right to defend himself but "stuck on stupid" folks won't get it.

13. MSNBC is disgusting in general this A.M. One of the Producers who came on
said "The majority of emails are positive about Rev. Wright's speech and says that WE DON'T GET IT!"

Damn right! They dare not allow the clearly racist "Joey the Scar" on this morning to host the show but Mika is "carrying the racially divisive water" for him nicely. I'm disgusted with her WHORING for the Corporate media ... the big get even aye, MSNBC? Don't bet on it! :grr:

31. There's a big difference between people "who have money" and "those who don't"
within both parties. SOME people who are independently wealthy think that everyone else within "the peasant classes" are stupid and will believe their pre-fab corporate propaganda, AS IS.

I don't think the politicos of the M$M truly embrace the fact that the American People are "paying attention" and it's time to GET REAL.

33. Her true personality and motives are coming out with her breathless baiting & self-righteousness
fake outrage. Was never sure why I disliked her...but this morning's "performance" reveals why she was hired just before this campaign season. And, remember her father is "part of the Powers that Be establishment.

BTW...Andrea Mitchell is claiming she "edited" the clips from Rev. Wright's speech. Talk about "Powers that Be" ...Andrea is doing the job as a producer! Sheesh...MSNBC/GE/RNC!

Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 06:39 AM by ErinBerin84
It has been disgusting me for a while, yet I was still watching. I turned it on for a moment this morning, and heard Mika ask "I wonder if maybe....the message is being lost in the 'shrillness'". I turned the channel, because I knew that she wouldn't explore the concept that, shocker among shockers, they could be taking it out of context. The next time I turned it on, Pat was on being, well, shrill.

Isn't Tucker a college drop out who is heir to like, a frozen food fortune? He reminds me of the preppy killer.

24. You expected thoughtful discussion from a TV news show, especially one on in the AM?
That's your problem, right there. :) It's easier for them to talk out of ignorance about nothing. The alternative would be quite unique to the TV 'news' scene, such as the hosts informing themselves about something and then informing their audience. The fact remains though that a cloud of ignorance is better for Corporate America and John McCain.

Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 07:58 AM by ShortnFiery
"Rev. Wright is free to do as he pleases, his words are not Barack Obama's. You seem to say over and over again on your show that it's a problem but I HAVE FAITH IN THE AMERICAN PEOPLE." Translation = You media whores are trying to spin this but it won't work.

Oh shit! They just put the racist Pat Buchanan on with Axelrod. Shame on MSNBC.

I'm DONE with MSNBC save for Rachael Maddow's appearances and KO's show.

MSNBC is OUT OF TOUCH!

David Axelrod is such a class act especially when compared to that smarmy Howard Wolfson.

For the first time I'm seeing very little positive in MIKA, i.e., corporate media whore par excellance.

Did David and Pat get into an exchage? Please do tell, if you watched.

I love how they always put Pat on as like, the token racist. I think that they must be blackmailing Pat, or Pat must be blackmailing MSNBC or something, for him to still be on the air. It is not out of the ordinary for him to be on Morning Joe, Hardball, Race to the White House, and Verdict with Dan Abrams, all in one day. Maybe lack of sleep just makes him go crazier.
