*****What Elitism Really Looks Like: PA exit polls show elitists went for Clinton***********
The Clintons know full well what they're doing.
Two main points from the PA election polls:

I. Those "elitist" Obama supporters were at it again. Clinton's support weakened as voter education and income rose.

II. There was a far worse sort of elitism at work than that measured by education and income level. White racial elitism. I'd call it plain-old racial elitism--because it was true that voters strongly tended to vote for the candidate of the same race--but only one group of racial elitists self-reported they voted for a candidate of the same race because it "was important": WHITES. This group of admitted white elitists made up 12% of the total population and went for Clinton 76-24%. If you're figuring at home, that works out to 9.12% of the total Democratic electorate who voted for Hillary Clinton because they admitted white racial elitism (also known as "racism"). The actual margin was Clinton by 9.2% (http://www.electionreturns.state.pa.us/)

It's no accident that Clinton stirred up Wright again. It's no accident that Bill said the next thing Obama would be claiming was that he'd never stolen a car. It's no accident that Obama was Jesse Jackson (and not John Edwards, who was the last election cycle's winner of South Carolina). Race-baiting ain't just a figment of the unbiased voter's imagination, a creation of the punditry, an overreaction of Obamatrons, or whining by progressives. Sorry to lay out there with actual evidence, but race appeals worked for the Clintons in PA. Even if you assume none of that 9.12% would have voted for Obama if she'd taken the progressive high road, it would have made the PA primary a a push.

(By the way, if you're wondering if gender caused people to vote one way or the other, the answer is yes. Of the men who said gender was important, 60% voted for Clinton anyway. Of the women who said gender was important, 73% voted for Clinton.)

9. The ones who voted for Obama did so because he is the savior
The ones who voted for Clinton did so because of Rush, never mind that Obama's once massive margins among both indies and rethugs have evaporated since he began to be vetted.

8. Did Edwards win SC with 80% white support and 20% black support?
Edited on Mon Apr-28-08 04:34 PM by jackson_dem
Exactly--only Jackson and Obama have won SC on racial lines. Everyone else won by transcending racial lines.

Clinton wins 63% of the white vote=racism. Obama wins 90% of the black vote=he is just that damn good a candidate!

10. look at the exit polls at the link. of the voters who say race was important, ONLY WHITES
voted only for the candidate of the same race. Does that mean no one else did? No. I'm talking about the avowed racial elitists--which in this case was WHITES ONLY IN PA--who voted for their white candidate. Sorry, but that 9.12% of the democratic primary vote gave Clinton her margin.

13. Are you saying that black people don't vote for Obama because he's black? If so, you're delusional.

14. nope. I'm saying that for those people who said race "was important" in their decision in PA
that ONLY WHITES voted for a candidate of the same race. check out the exit polls yourself to see how Clinton got her 9% margin of victory.

15. So then a lot of them obviously lied. Get real.
If Obama weren't black, her margin of victory would have been higher.

16. You're lying about what the exit poll in your own link says. Not hard to spot your racist agenda:
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 10:53 AM by Yossariant
Race of Candidate Was...

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Clinton Obama

Most Important (5%) N/A --- N/A
One of Several (14%) 55% --- 45%
Not Important (80%) 54% --- 46%

17. before you call me a liar, look below that to see BREAKDOWN by RACE
That's what I'm talking about. And I've never said other people didn't vote by race...just that those who were self-avowed racists voted for Clinton.
