5. Yep
It's sad.

I don't listen to anything on Air America any longer. I used to listen to the Randi Rhodes show and continued during her slot until today.

Today, it's Jones Radio Network and NovaM only.

Randi's shoes are a bit harder to fill than Mark Green thought.

Serves him right, the moron.

17. Celebrity Activists
I've been loving the celebrity gab fest. Joy Behar was a hoot with her friend from Curb Your Enthusiasm. Richard Belzer had really interesting guests, Rosanne rocks even though she doesn't support my guy.

You haven't listened have you?

missing out on something different and possibly interesting? Are you afraid to hear something new? Hate Roseanne Barr, Richard Belzer, Joy Behar, Jon Stewart, Lewis Black? When did liberals start hating celebrity activist?

I'm listening to a Randi "Best of" show now and would much prefer
that to more HRC ass-kissing courtesy of La Grande Barr.

37. OMG, A Repeat
that's just sad.

Yeah, this Obama supporter finds Randi Rhodes ill informed, tacky and divisive and repetitive. She didn't do us any favors by calling HRC a big fucking whore before PA primary.

Roseanne just wrapped up an interesting conversation about Universal Health Care with Dr. Stephanie Woolhandler. This is scary, she advocates guaranteed access to health care for all members of society, including the forty-two million Americans currently without medical insurance. In 1986 she helped found Physicians for a National Health Program, a not-for-profit organization for physicians, medical students, and other health care professionals who advocate a national health insurance program. Dr. Woolhandler originally envisioned a life of service to the poor where she would be providing hands-on care. Explaining her choice of medicine as a career she recalled, "After several years of working in the movement against the Vietnam War, I sought a career that would allow me to continue my work for social change. I also loved math and science. Medicine was a career that allowed me to combine both my interests...I could reach a large audience for progressive ideas by publishing in medical journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine and the JAMA."

13. A couple of us were talking about her the other day, and were reflecting on her uncanny ability to
select actors/actresses of high caliber, who really benefited from their association with her. Not to mention her enthusiastic promotion of RHCP when they were first starting out.

John Goodman and George Clooney both benefited from exposure on her show and she had several stellar actors/actresses guest appear on her show as well.

Say what you will, she is the ultimate American success story and she's demonstrated a lot of savvy and smarts in managing her career, not to mention the boatload of awards she won.

I don't agree with everything she says or does but then I don't agree with everything that ANYBODY says or does.

But I do appreciate the fact that she hasn't been wealthy for so long that she has forgotten what it's like to have to scrape together money to pay the electric bill.

To call Obama a "Brother" is appropriate but as a woman I am totally insulted to have her refer to Senator Clinton in that manner.

And frankly, I am shocked that an Hillary supporter would find that funny ~

40. Roseanne
Roseanne will be a welcomed change from AA's 24-hr a day Obamathon. I was listenting to a program on Sat night called 'Race to the White House,' with Rachel Maddow. There was one guest (I don't remember who it was) who said that he was told by Jay Rockefeller that there's no money in the budget in '09 for health care, and that if a new administration can't win congressional approval for new programs within the first year, they won't get approval during the rest of their term. The point he was trying to make is that health care is dead, so even though Obama is the weaker on health care, a vote for Hillary is a wasted vote. So much for progressive.

If it wasn't for Jim Ward's funny voice bits, the show would be a 3-hour hummer for Sen. Obama.

Sometimes, I wish I still subscribed to podcasts just so I could cancel it and tell them why I'm cancelling.
