AP headline; Poll: Clinton has better chance than Obama of beating McCain

By LIZ SIDOTI, Associated Press Writer Mon Apr 28, 11:10 AM ET

WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton has a better chance than Barack Obama of beating Republican John McCain, according to a new Associated Press-Ipsos poll that bolsters her argument that she is more electable in the fall than her rival for the Democratic nomination.

The survey released Monday gives Clinton a fresh talking point as she works to convince pivotal undecided superdelegates to side with her in the drawn-out Democratic primary fight.

Clinton, who won the Pennsylvania primary last week, has gained ground this month in a hypothetical head-to-head match up with the GOP nominee-in-waiting; she now leads McCain, 50 percent to 41 percent, while Obama remains virtually tied with McCain, 46 percent to 44 percent.

74. Do you deny that the GOP will use Bill's DickGates and Hillary's Lesbian Rumors Against Her?...
...They will use them in a heartbeat because a large number of Americans well remember the turmoil of the Clinton administration and Bill's problems controlling his dick. In addition, there are a large number of homophobes who will not vote for a candidate, especially one they didn't like to start with, if there are persistent rumors of being gay.

Hillary has been bigot-pandering for months. If she shoves her way onto the Dem ticket, she will be the target of bigot-panderers herself. Let's see how much she likes it.

Finally, if all you can muster is ad hominem attacks, why do you bother? Ad hominem attacks are a sign of a weak poster.

114. Wrong. Many voters remember the trauma and drama of the Clinton administration....
...and don't want that to happen again.

Hillary, who has run on the WJC administration, will be saddled with all of the bad of that administration, too.

After all, she used HER money to pay off Paula Jones. Bill Clinton didn't pay a dime.

3. actually she has a worse chance since you have to be the Nominee to participate in the GE
and since polls do not the determine the Nominee, she is shit out of luck.

She trails in every measure that matters. Delegates, States, Popular Vote.

The MSM is trying to force Hillary on the People.
She is being wholeheartedly rejected.

That's one poll. It's also the largest I've seen. I cannot fathom how anyone can consider either Obama or Clinton viable candidates when they are polling even with (or slightly ahead of) a Republican candidate that endorses the policies of the failed Bush Administration. It's incredible!

108. Well, what I find hilarious is that one poll finally gives her a higher number ...
... and the article frames the poll as authoritative -- ignoring the margin of error and the fact that every other poll has consistently shown Obama to be the stronger candidate. The *best* spin that could have been honestly reported in the article is that Clinton *is* doing a bit better in recent days, keeping her campaign hopes alive.

The problem for Hillary is, she needs to win every primary from her on out in order to even be in a position for the superdelegates to then steal the election for her, ala the 2000 SCOTUS decision (strictly legal, but contrary to the will of the voters).

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080428/ap_on_el_pr/democrats;_ylt=AkqvPfemjrkEeb2ea6TM8qCs0NUE

By SARA KUGLER, Associated Press Writer Mon Apr 28, 11:03 AM ET

GRAHAM, N.C. - Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday criticized Barack Obama for opposing the concept of suspending the gas tax during the peak summer driving months, ……..

………….

Obama does not support the "gas tax holiday" and has said the average motorist would not benefit significantly from such a suspension; by some estimates, the federal government would lose about $10 billion in revenue.

"My opponent, Senator Obama, opposes giving consumers a break," Clinton said, campaigning in North Carolina. "I understand the American people need some relief."

Clinton said she would make up the difference in revenue by imposing a "windfall profits tax" on oil companies.

"If we suspended it and made up the lost revenues, that's the best of both worlds," she said.

Discount the black vote in this country. If Hillary somehow gets the nomination, which she won't, very few black people in this country will vote for her in the GE, and she'll sink like a rock.

Without the black vote, she's completely unelectable. So your poll doesn't mean a damned thing.

49. We knew that already!!!
That photo of Hillary on the Truman balcony is one of my favorite pics from her days at the White House. It's from the Annie Leibovitz spread she did of Hillary for Vogue.

52. And when Hillary was under attack a couple of months ago Obama was polling better
than McCain. Once Hillary is out of the race and stops attacking Obama, his numbers will go back up. Get it? :nopity:

57. Other polling organisations need to get behind this trend
Rasmussen Reports tracking poll is totally failing to let Hillary's strength shine through!

polls the AP poll is an outlier.

Put Bill back in the WH so he can finish peckerizing the rest babes in the WH. But that won't happen!

There will be no more Clintons in the WH - youd better cozy up to that fact!

88. I don't believe that for a second
The number of people in the midwest and west (and I'm sure plenty of other places) who are still caught up in their irrational hatred of all things Clinton is too high for her to ever win. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

90. It's a good thing she didn't drop out no matter which side you're on.
It's good to still have a choice if we want to win in Nov.

I gave her 10 bucks. If I can I'll hook her up when the stimulus checks get here. Is that legal?

105. Truth is these GE polls are virtually worthless now. Too much can happen.
How the conventions go, what happens with the economy, the Iraq war, which issues rise to the top in the GE. And then to compare two hypothetical match-ups, it just doesn't make any sense. One thing is for sure, if Obama supporters think that he got the shaft and Hillary wins mainly on the strength of super delegates, a lot of those supporters will stay home and Hillary will have a harder time winning. OTOH, if Obama continues to lead and captures the nomination, Hillary supporters will have less incentive to stay home.
