Mr. Wright has betrayed Obama
I'm crawling out from under my rock just to say:

Dear Mr. Wright,

Everything you are saying is true, but did you really need to say it at THIS TIME?

You have hurt Obama's campaign, and you have decided that you are the spokesman for all black churches. Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to attend your church were I a resident of Chicago. But now you have truly crossed the line with all your talk in the midst of such a crucial campaign. You are now aiding and abetting the Clinton/McCain campaigns! Thanks for nothing, you jackass!

GO AWAY!!!

1. mmmmm
I believe with the swift-boating act done on Mr. Wright, he had to respond.

without the ability to respond.

When would be the "right time?"

Oh well. All that's happening is what I suspected would happen all along. My mind is clear now and I'm watching all of this unfold with semi-amusement.

John Kerry made a HUGE mistake by not hitting back at those lying propaganda artists. People in the public eye CANNOT let the rightwing media define them - PERIOD. THEY MUST HIT BACK.

The swiftboating of Wright was only working on people who would have never attended Wright's church in the first place. But thanks for your concern.

2. He didn't do a damn thing. Just a black man speaking is enough to send white folks...
... fleeing for their lives and complaining like whiny ass tittie babies.

Note to everybody pretending to be an Obama supporter: Black people will say things. Get fucking used to it. Possibly one day you'll realize there isn't anything wrong with it, or even exceptional.

29. But I feel so violated
He put his black ideas all over my nice clean white mind, like ink on paper! Or paint on canvas! Now I can't make the new ideas go away, and they're forever imprinted on my consciousness! How can I return to my previous state of blank emptiness? Now I know how paintings and documents feel after they are hung up on the wall of a museum to be stared at, a mere historical relic of my former self! Oh, woe is me!

I'm so upset that I'm going to paint the road outside my house white. Maybe that will make Reverend Wright see what a cruel, cruel man he is. I was so happy and carefree before he burst into my consciousness. Now I see Barack Obama as half black when I used to see him as half-white, sort of like a latte. Boo hoo hoo! Sob! Weep!

Someone pour me a glass of milk, and make it a stiff one!

before it dawns on the not so bright electorate that Wright isn't running for anything?

Personally, I'm already bored, and I don't have a problem with Rev. Wright.

The media however, now, they are the betrayers of this nation. They are the unpatriotic scourge of this earth.

Monday, April 28, 2008

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows John McCain and Barack Obama once again tied, with each attracting 46% of the vote. Four percent (4%) say they would vote for a third party option and 4% are undecided. In a match-up with Hillary Clinton, it’s McCain 47%, Clinton 44%.

18. Eh, it was inevitable that Wright would start talking--that's what he does
for a living. He's not going to be mute forever, and he's not a puppet of the Obama campaign. Obama can't control him. In the end, he's just a sideshow, and people will figure out that he and Obama are two separate people, and not especially close or affiliated.

21. Funny how so many people have strong opinions about something
they know so little about. This man is controversial only because the talking heads keep calling him controversial. I was in a noisy break room today at work where Wright was on TV speaking to the press club live and I was the only one listening. The room was very noisy with everyone talking and laughing about various things happening in their lives. But I will bet you that every one of those people has an opinion about Wright which they have been fed on the news. It is enough to make me want to move to France - I kid you not.

24. The kind of idiocy that allows this kind of media BS frenzy to continue
Under a rock is a great place for insects, and I'm glad Wright decided not to hide under one. This is America: Every person has a right to speak his/her mind and defend against personal attacks. Hillary just attacked his character in the last debate. How was that helping Obama? Wright should have allowed the attacks on his character to continue? Who do you think is helped if Wright doesn't got away? Hillary?

Fortunately you don't get to decide when Wright speaks.

28. "Jeremiah Wright fucked Obama today and fucked him good. "
An Andrew Sullivan reader got it about right:

"Jeremiah Wright fucked Obama today and fucked him good. Remember how good everything felt right after Obama's historical speech in Pennsylvania -- like we might inch toward an honest discussion on race? Wright seemed to do everything he could this morning to shut that down...."

linkl

Wright's Bill Moyers interview was fine. His NAACP speech yesterday was okay, though he sounded a bit like a kook to me (I'm a neuroscientist and his "left brain-right brain" stuff was bullshit). But the Press Club Q & A was atrocious. I desperately hope Barack can find a clean way to cut this guy loose.

52. Maybe this was to cast him is a better light
Considering the fact that NC had these hate videos of Wright by the Replicans running.

Nothing he has said in the past two days is as bad as the sound bites they were playing over and over again.

Soon the American People will so Oh yeah, Wright, he's old news.

By flooding the airwaves with him and his speaches it gets him out there in a more realistic way. Maybe not perfect but not as a man whose every other word is God Damn America etc...

The medis does a good job of burning people out on a matter.

Also the American people are not that dumb. They may get ticked off because it is an obvious hit job and they will come out to vote because of this.

The problem is I am afraid this is being done to give them the excuse they need to steal the election.

Steal it then say oh yeah he lost because of the Wright thing.

How can Wright not think about this if he is so intelligent and just maybe he did and it will blow over.
