Wright said that Obama says what he does because he's a politician. At no point did Wright say, or even suggest that; "Obama is a politician and will say anything to get elected!".

You've long since crossed the line into irrational, I take it disingenuous is nothing new to you either.

Oh... you are a riot and right off the deep end, aren't you?

Add to that the fact that he still didn't say; "Obama is a politician and will say anything to get elected!", and you're still misquoting the quote he quoted.

Look, you'll believe whatever you want, I don't expect to change that. I just find it hilarious that you guys will go and take the words of someone who's NOT a politician and hold it up as some kind of fault of Obama's. Then, if you have a few firing synapses left, take a look at the candidate who is actually saying "anything to get elected" including, but not limited to, elevating her party's opponent over her colleague.

There's still room in reality for you, but apparently no room in you for reality.

Clintons are wrong to think they could fool everybody in the Dem party by pardoning IranContra thug for Poppy and telling Dems he was just a wealthy tax evader.

Clintons think their supporters are stupid and treat them as such. They are wrong to do it - wrong and insulting to any citizen who believes that truth matters.

You want the Dem protectors of the Bushes and their global corruption to return to power so BushInc would continue to be protected into the next decade - just like Bill did throughout the 90s..

comments made then referring to King:

"he doesn't know his place"

"he is a trouble maker"

and much worse

Frankly, I wish someone would point out to Hillary when she jumped on the band wagon regarding Wright being anti-American, that this was the same pastor giving Bill Clinton counsel when he lied about a BJ

15. That's interesting.
Actually, I think Obama has made his own mistakes..
and serious ones at that.

If he wins the nomination, I will vote for him.
If Clinton wins it, I will vote for her.

But there's nothing either of them can or will do
that will mean the kind of deep change this country
and the world need to survive.. until they get free
of corporate and lobbyist influence.

Lemme guess, you also 'won't vote for Obama' in the General Election.

If everyone behaved like you, and stopped listening to anyone that said something they didn't like, the media would disappear overnight.

I don't agree that anyone necessarily "threw anyone under the bus", I think it's a mischaraterization. Should I behave the way you do and stop listening to KO? Well of course you want me to stop watching, he's a big bad meanie who said things you didn't like... so 'it would serve him right'!

20. KO could not have been stronger in his opinion, and he used those words --
Wright threw Barack Obama under the bus. Richard Wolffe presents a sort of psychological view, indicating that Wright seems a narcissistic person, jealous of Barack's success -- and even disapproving because Barack's world/religious view is not the same as his own. Wright is not the black Church, does not speak for the black Church.

The political view is that Obama is in a really difficult place -- put there by Wright, and by the decision not to distance himself from Wright earlier. Both distancing himself further from Wright, and not distancing himself further, carry risks. It was said that Wright had a chance to be a confidante, and influence on, the next President of the United States -- that chance, needless to say, is GONE!

It'll be sort of hard for all these people who insist Wright has thrown Obama under the bus (of his book tour, I assume) to argue that Obama's too close to him after this, eh? Obama's just going to shrug it off from here on out. Let's face it, if Wright had gone all cryptic we'd just be hearing conspiracy theories about it instead.

I hope Wright speaks somewhere if he comes to San Francisco. I'd like to hear him even though I'm not Christian and disagree with about 40% of what I hear from him.

Also, have you seen Rod Parsley, the guy that McCain calls his spiritual guide (as opposed to that Hagee guy who merely endorsed him). Rod Parsley is a total fruit loop who sells prayer cloths over the TeeVee. Seriously. He makes Jeremiah Wright look like Mr Spock.

39. I've always liked KO --
IMO, he's earned a big place in our history for speaking out when no one else would. I'm an Obama supporter, but don't approve of KO's nightly skewering of Hillary. I like both candidates, and have supporters of both in my own immediate family. I respect both my loved ones and their choice of candidate -- and I respect KO. I just wish he were more even handed re. the candidates -- not a popular view here.

Are you seriously saying that Obama supporters don't care what KO says? Did I imagine the few hundred threads cheering him on every time he attacked Clinton?

53. That still doesnt mean that anyone would spaz out over this.
I'd think it would have to be a bit more substantial. So he says Wright threw Obama under the bus. So what? Its not like he said Obama was an asshole or anything. Ya know?

And just a day ago they were defending him for using a "figure of speech" when he said Hillary should be taken into a room and incapacitated..... such that she couldn't walk back out.

Do you have a valid reason for claiming his lack of credibility, or shall I put you down as "petulant child"?

Thank you.

51. Wright breaking with Obama would be fatal
Because Obama's strength stems mainly from his overwhelming support from African Americans. This would weaken this strength.

Gee, yesterday there was thread after thread after thread of people...and I quote "who get it" singing the praises of Wright's masterful unifying speeches and sermons.

Where are all you masterminds of political strategy today?

I guess Obama must not "get it" anymore like you all do LOL

OH and BTW I usually stay out of this flame war primary garbage but stop blaming Wright's big egotistical bigoted mouth on the HRC campaign.

100. What is 'renouncing'
"I don't speak for Reverend Wright, and Reverend Wright does not speak for me"..Is that 'renouncing'? Because I like, and agree with what Reverend Wright has to say, does that mean that Senator Obama has to like and agree with what Reverend Wright has to say? I'm having a hard time seeing Reverend Wright and Senator Obama as the same person.

75. Apparently you don't even know what "Cognitive Dissonance" is...

You see, so far as I've seen, it's the Clinton supporters that storm off in a tantrum when a long-loved commentator say something about their candidate they don't like. That's simply childishness, not 'cognitive dissonance'.

"Cognitive Dissonance" tends only to come into play when someone is attempting to reconcile otherwise perceived absolutes that contradict one-another. Most intelligent adults have learned not to assign absolute values to non-absolute entities or issues. If you want to apply 'cognitive dissonance' here, you'd be saying that Olbermann listeners believe that a) He's always right. b) He said something they can't agree with.

Well, as an adult, I have no problem listening to Olbermann say something I may disagree with, understanding why he said it and what merits his position or statements may have, and continue to listen to him without my opinion of him changing in the least.

There is no "cognitive dissonance" either way.

Now, are you one of the children that decided to stop listening to him because he said 'bad mean things' about your favorite candidate?

77. I half-agree..
but I think it was intentional, to give Obama an out. If you happened to catch it, he also confirmed Obama did not hear the speech and therefore shouldn't be commenting on it. It sounded like a slam, but really it backed up Obama's claims. Thanks Rev.! :)

80. I really do believe that..
all his mannerisms and everything, was to give Obama a reason to be "pissed" and him "throwing Obama under the bus" provide political distance without Obama having to look like a he was the one being disloyal. Sort of like, hmm.. the polar bear, she'll fight with her cub when it gets older, distance herself from her, but not to be mean, rather than to force her to be independent. :P

He gave Obama a reason to say, well, "see, he's just a crazy uncle.." or what have you. Obama is now going to eventually get sympathy from this whole thing I think, and people are going to realize the idiocy of involving religion in our politics.

90. So far, including MF, we have five children posting in this thread.
I'm still waiting to hear back from JF, who deserves the BOTD, but apparently there are at least five people who decided to spurn the only truly liberal-leaning commentator on cable because he said 'mean bad nasty things' about their candidate, and who believe that Obama supporters should behave just as childishly as they do.

I love these threads.
