1. no, he didn't. Stop thinking just because he gets the nomination, he wins POTUS.
so far Obama and his campaign has totally failed to counter Hillary.

She is weakening his image. It will effect November.

12. Obama is campaigning against McCain
Hillary doesn't need to be countered, because she's running against herself at this point.

26. Winning the nomination means he beat the Clintons.
It does nothing but strengthen him. It's the beauty in all of this.

31. On which planet?? HE wasn't known by ANYONE 8 months ago -
he's stopped one of the most powerful political machines in the history of American politics, one that includes one of the most wildly popular Presidents EVER.

He did it without the usual big business money and energized a couple million new voters....

I'd say he's beating the shit right out of her campaign.

All this talk of the general is so much whistling past the graveyard...

3. I've been saying for months that Axelrod and his team
must have studied the Carville-Begala 'War Room' and figured out ways to make it even more effective.

And here they come with a page ripped right out of the Big Dog's playbook.

I'm even more convinced that Axelrod came into this prepared to beat Bill and Hillary clinton at the type of campaign they thought only they knew how to run.

It's an amazing thing to watch.

5. What, by scapegoating and stereotyping "the real enemy" to be someone "blacker than he is"?
Looks like that's what most Americans view as acceptable hatred.

Here's what he should have said (and apparently won't):

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x5728045

The perpetually defensive messaging of Obama (like Kerry) has begun.

Repeat after me: Obama is not a liberal... Obama is not a liberal...
everyone knows white people are bitter because of liberals and evil
blacks like Wright.

10. Obama reiterated that he is representing all Americans, which is what he has said all along
In the past we've always had one rich white male vs. another rich white male, and minorities had to vote for the one that they thought would throw them the biggest scraps.

This time we have Clinton who has made it a campaign about women getting theirs. Think white males like that? I don't. I think it's the source of a lot of the "irrational hate" of Hillary everyone wonders about.

Obama has been about every American from day one. That is why his race hasn't mattered to all the white people who have voted for him. I saw an AA vet at a town rally ask Obama what he was going to do for black veterans. Obama's answer was that he would see to the needs of all veterans. He has never signalled on any level that one group of Americans will get more special attention than another. THAT is why he has such widespread support.

I personally enjoyed Wright's three appearances this past weekend. But there's a lot of Americans who are AFRAID of strong speakers like Wright. Obama does not want to go forward with messages tied to him that emphasize the differences between people. He needs to go forward with a message that unites all of us -- black, white, and purple polka dot -- against the corporate powers that have all but destroyed us by keeping us divided.

One thing I did notice in his press conference, he disowned what Wright said, he was angry and sad, but he did not disown Wright. No one else seemed to catch that omission.

8. Oh NO! I just know Chris Mathews is going to be ALL OVER this Sister Soujah Moment.
I swear he must have an orgasm just by enunciating the words "Sister Soujah" almost as ORGASMIC as quipping about HRC portryaing "Marcy Captor." :silly:

Ya know, I can have a warped perspective of the world - but ole' Tweety comes across, at times, as just f**king BIZARRO BIRD BRAIN EXTRAORDINAIRE!

17. In 1992, the original Sister Souljah Moment delivered the Presidency to Bill Clinton

It's a moment when a candidate moves HARD to the center of the electorate.

Obama won the Presidency today.... you'll see.

21. We'll see, I guess I'm upset at the "WHITE PASTORS ONLY" sign hanging above the US media and Wright
...signified some of that for me to a degree and instead of Obama pointing to Hagees hateful, traitorous and racist ass'd pastors Wright gets CORRECTLY thrown under the bus while McSame gets to hold onto to his bigoted friends.

Just a frustrating day for this Gen X black male who felt America had come more of a way on race than reality showed today.

15. One small difference, Sista Soulja wasn't Big Dog's pastor for 20
years, she didn't marry the Clinton's, didn't baptize Chelsea, didn't bless their house

wasn't the inspiration for the title of his autobiography, wasn't his spiritual leader,

wasn't on his campaign team, etc.. etc..

Obama basically Sista Soulja'd himself.

18. Right, if I'm getting sista soulja right this doesn't look good for Obama. Wright didn't JUST get to
...be an extremist in his views.

Maybe I'm not getting the meaning of sista soulja correct

19. Dude... you are taking the relationship TOO literally....

The point is.... a "Sister Souljah Moment" is when a politician repudiates an extremist "association" and wins over the political "center".

Obama did that today. He neutralized his biggest weakness.

If you prefer.... we could compare it to when Bill and Hillary went on 60 minutes during the height of the Jennifer Flowers flap and turned his candidacy around (and it was in BIG trouble at the time).

...it was about Clinton separating himself from Jesse Jackson.

He just used Sister Souljah as the tool.

28. K, read more of the wiki; it's an attempt to appeal to moderates by distancing yourself from....
...extremist.

Hmmm, ... (me wringing hands)...OK....I don't see Wright as more extreme than Hagee or Parsley but I can see the media seeing him more extreme though because of most people who are in the media not having any true black friends.

30. The "Sister Souljah Moment" wasn't about her... it was about Clinton distancing himself from Jesse..
..Jackson.

He was using Sister Souljah as his wedge to show the American people that he and Jesse Jackson were not "on the same team".

Bubba distanced himself from Jesse Jackson..... just like Obama did with Wright today.
