Only one grade is needed.

Oh, btw, can we do away with that silly "daylight saving" time? Last time I checked it is daylight for roughly half a day, every day, year round. Maybe right-wingers can find a way to put some in a private account. That way when they get older, they can have daylight 24 hours ....ahem...a day.

Ok, ok. I'm being a little silly here, but DST should be done away with.

25. I have to say, as a Hillary supporter, who does worry about Wright in the national election
you made an excellent point with this post. I'm going actually rec the post. You did it by being creative and not offensive. I actually have to say, you are right to some extent. There are much more important things we should be talking about than just one topic that does not relate to our future as a nation. Though I do think some consideration should be given to the Wright situation because I worry it is going to harm the democrats in November with Obama as the nominee (which he probably will be). I hope that is not the case, but sadly the news media will make sure that it comes into play against McCain once we have a nominee.

69. personally, I don't think so
I just feel like those issues have played out. I don't feel like the Wright issue has played out though, and I think it will last until the GE. Though I could be wrong.

But, to be fair to what you are saying, I do believe that the Bosnia issue will haunt Hillary to the GE as well.

They each have become wounded for their GE battle. I guess it is a matter of opinion as to whose wounds will bleed the most. Trust me, if Obama is the nominee (and realistically his chances are much better of getting the nomination at this point) then the last thing I want is for Wright to take him down, and I will fight for him against the right wing smear machines the same as I would Hillary.

89. Thanks for your honesty. I think the Wright issue will be very warn out
by Nov. It has been in the "news" for weeks and even republicans are beginning to wonder why it is still there. As for McCain in Nov. every republican I know have either changed to be a democrat or will vote for who ever the democratic candidate is in Nov. I've never seen anything like it. The die hard republicans say they would probably vote for nobody if McCain is their choice. My vote is for Obama but I will vote for Hillary if she is the pick as long as she stays out of the garbage from now until then!

74. Racism is not a distraction when used to inform
about differences... unfortunately many people including the media use sound bites to distract not to inform and teach people about differences in cultural practices. If teaching was applied and extended to other things for instance the economy, the occupation of Iraq, the aftermath of Katrina and where billions are being spent on war and destruction we might be in a better place.. not distracted but focused and working on many problems that come from stereotyping, fear and bigotry.

It is too damned easy to focus on sound bites. We have got to start thinking and expanding.

Good post... but... can we learn... can we expand and see where we are going can we see each other as human beings... even our enemies.. like Bush and co. and stop this craziness to work on ALL our problems?

83. You make some excellent points
And about the REV JEREMIAH WRIGHT STORY. Can we put this puppy to bed now? Because, hard as it is to believe, Rev Wright didn't make headlines by speaking outrageously. The MSM made the headlines by not only carrying his comments live in their entirety, but by replaying them over and over again ad nauseum. And then discussing the comments 24/7 as if there was no other news to report. Then they all sit around in wonder at how this tumor of a story metastasized into the STORY OF THE WEEK!

Joe Scarborough: Gee, I wonder why this REV WRIGHT story won't die? Let's talk about it some more.

Mika Brzezinski: Yeah, the REV WRIGHT AND HIS OUTRAGEOUS COMMENTS STORY just won't calm down. Let's watch that clip of his speech again and ramble on some more about this very important story.

Chris Matthews: Do you think this REV WRIGHT story is all anyone else is talking about? Do you think the media has become obsessed with the REVEREND JEREMIAH WRIGHT? Let's ask these journalists and political analysts what they think of the REV JEREMIAH WRIGHT AND HIS OUTRAGEOUS COMMENTS and all speculate on what is keeping this story alive.

Wolf Blitzer: Coming up after the break we watch the National Press Club speech yet again and focus the next 120 hours on this story which, for some reason, won't die.
