I'd be getting whiplash if I was trying to be a good Obama supporter the last few days
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 07:30 PM by ruggerson
Sat/Sun/Mon - Reverend Wright is wonderful and great. He speaks the truth and it is a DEEP and telling truth that he speaks. He just won Obama the Presidency by speaking truth to power. Obama will not throw him under the bus, if he does, I will lose all respect for him.

------ A mere 48 hours later ----------------

Tues - Well, sadly, Reverend Wright had to go. He said so many things that were oh so wrong and outrageous, and Obama, tragically, did what he had to do. He was betrayed by a man run wildly amok. Reverend Wright is so far out of the mainstream and he said so many things that hurt Obama very deeply. You could see how Obama was genuinely angry and hurt. Obama had to do the right thing. What a show of courage.

--------------------------------------------

Whew.

Ok, what's next on the agenda?

20. Wooli, I was just thinking about that not five minutes ago.
You were speaking truth and you got crucified. It was very brave and you took a lot of heat. There is a real problem when people can't say what they think or question their candidate. That's how we got Bush and I don't like it at all.

11. No - that is history
The MSM is not going to revisit that.

The question is whether Wright will fade away or not, if the MSM will move on, and how badly Obama was hurt. We will find out in IN and NC.

22. Wright was largely right, but he was also insensitive and rash
I personally don't fault Wright because I like chiding humor and offending people.

I can see why it is an issue though, not everyone has a sense of humor, and he was not sensitive about peoples' values.

Obama has different values than me, he cares more about respecting different cultures. So it is valid that he criticizes Wright for offending people and spouting (some) nonsense on the national stage, and I still believe Wright to be intelligent and worthy of respect.

31. I know! And what's next on the agenda, the suspense is KILLING me, What Will Wright Say Now?
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 08:00 PM by smalll
The ball's in his court!

Also, what's interesting with the Obamatrons over the past few days is that while we have the Sat/Sun/Mon pro-Wright contingent, we have also seen (credit to them) the "what-the-fuck?!?" Obamatrons who realized that something had to be done with this meddlesome priest: (particularly yesterday, once we got to digest the NAACP speech (whites are left-brained, blacks are right-brained) and saw Wright at the NPC.)

Today, on Tuesday, the rational what-the-fucksters are where you say they are, but you STILL have a large contingent of pro-Wright Obamatrons here, which is real bad for Obama. He's going to lose some extreme-latte liberal support, AND more importantly, he's going to lose some AA support, AND more importantly still, the Riot Card therefore loses its potency and threat, which opens the door to more wise moves to Hillary by SuperDs.

And of course we have also the Obamatrons who aren't clueless (who realize that Wright is bad for Obama) but who are paranoids instead, and blame Hillary for all this.

So who do you feel more sorry for? The clueless wonders who think Wright is a good thing, or the paranoids who at least realize the facts on the ground, but then go all tin-foily with it?

----

I have to admit, over today and yesterday, I've been reminded of a Hillary ad early on (Iowa?) with piles of pretty presents under the Christmas tree. ("Now where did I put universal pre-K?") With Wright rather than Our Girl playing the Santa role.

48. Yes, Obama supporters might have been whiplashed a bit.

It is an occupational hazard for Dems with a spine.

Is Wright an issue?
No, Wright is a distraction, and a divisive one at that.
If he is an issue, why did Bill and Hillary turn to him in the post-Lewinsky phase of their marriage?

Iraq, that is an issue. Too bad HRC was and remains on the wrong side of it.

Universal Single Payer healthcare is an issue. Both of them are on the wrong side of it. CheneyCare for all.

NAFTA is an issue. HRC and Barack both don't understand how badly it is thought of out there and why. I trust Obama far more on this issue and Obama is no Edwards.

The economy is an issue, and more of the same corporatist government will not fix it. Again, Obama strikes me as better on the economy, but neither is an Edwards.

The Constitution is an issue, and I trust neither of them to do the right thing. Of course, as long as we dwell on crap like the Wright 'controversy' none of these other issues get vetted.

Should HRC win, I am sure all these issues will be covered as soon as Mr. Murdoch says it is okay.

But thanks, without posts like the preceeding, I'd have to watch Faux.
