Federal Earmarks this year by the candidates: Obama $0, McCain $0, Clinton $2.3B with a B, PRICELESS

Clinton’s huge earmark requests have some speculating that the former first lady is preparing for a soft landing should she lose the Democratic primary to Obama and refocus her energy on winning a third Senate term.

Steve Ellis, a vice president at Taxpayers for Common Sense, a group critical of earmarks, said the amount is not unusual for a senator hailing from a big state who has long secured pet projects.

“For her to all of a sudden change course would look opportunistic,” Ellis said.

“There’s a decent chance that she is going to remain the senator from New York, and she needs to do what she can to stay the senator from New York.”

You should also try: Black Pastor Endorsement Harlem after Million dollar earmark from Clinton.

Oh and not only that but fundraising yeah that too.

And add in that 4 of the people that threatened Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic party got them too.

12. still not finding anything indicating earmarks went to SDs
As for the fact that some of her previous year's earmarks went to folks that contributed to her campaign, that is hardly shocking. I'm an Obama supporter and I'd suggest caution on this front -- while Obama may have not proposed any earmarks this year (and I think that was a smart move), he has done so in the past and I'd be shocked if none of them went to folks who contributed to his campaign either before or after the fact. I have a friend and former colleague who does a lot of approps work as a lobbyist (much of it trying to get money for educational institutions, school districts, etc). and that is simply how the game is played (which is why I'd like to see the 'game' cleaned up).

11. I'll bet you can't link your lie.

"And if that's the case, it's good news for Obama. Since 2005, his PAC has donated $710,900 to superdelegates, more than three times as much as Clinton's PAC has. Her PAC distributed $236,100 to superdelegates during the three-year period.

The study found that the presidential candidate who gave more money to the superdelegates received their endorsements 82 percent of the time. That's based on a review of elected officials who are serving as superdelegates and who'd endorsed a candidate as of Feb. 25."

13. Yeah Obama s PAC has donated to DEMOCRATIC CAMPAIGNS
Edited on Wed Apr-30-08 07:57 AM by Boz
Boy Hillary defenders sure throw the word Lie around very easy, leadership by example I guess.

And your own numbers prove she doesn't care about other democrats, She was sitting on a war chest of a 150 million and couldnt even break half a million for other important democrat campaigns?

Those were campaign PAC donations. Im talking federal earmarks to endorsers, Campaign funders and Supers like Murtha.

She needs a "G" for Greedy. :puke:

Has she paid off her bills to the "working people" in her campaign yet?

7. She brought money to her state but they didn't bring any to theirs?
I'm pretty sure that's one of the things we elected her to do. So you're saying that, in the midst of this harrowing and exhausting campaign, Hillary Clinton is still doing her job as Senator from New York?

But Obama and McCain haven't managed to do a damn thing for their states?

But Hillary is bad and they are good? Sure, kid.

10. But dont expect many of her supporters to feel upset about this
what they would do is try to use an example that attempts to show Obama in some way to be doing the same thing but on a lesser scale, and then try to use that as a way to absolve Hillary while completely ignoring the context of scale, or the fact that Obama is at least running on the pretense of trying to be fair/hopeful making that principle more a politically-important goal within Dem culture. Context doesn't matter at all
